Both of the cheapo Camellias I bought from Aldi have several separate stems in each pot, so being curious I took one of them out of the pot to have a nosey and one of them split away from the others fairly easily. You could tell that this one hadn't been grown in the same pot as the others originally.

Anyway, I've divided all three stems to see if I could get three plants out of it.

I've potted each one in a separate pot.

Am hoping the experiment will work and that they each have enough roots to recover, but if not then I've still got another of the same.

Any thoughts? Have I murdered the poor Camellia or is there a possibility it will recover?

Looks like you have three cuttings in the one pot.
Often they do this to create a bushy plant early.

Cant see why it wont work splitting them up.:dbgrtmb:

        3 for 2...
They are separate rooted plants so I would think they should work

I have now done the same with a Jury's Yellow which I bought from the Eden Project online shop. Three stems on the other pink Japonica (unnamed), so if all goes to plan I'll get eight plants out of three purchases
