I have a section of garden where years ago I planted some slow growing dwarf conifers and a cotoneaster. They have looked lovely, but now the conifers have become very big, and since I became widowed during the past year the maintenance is down to me. Can these be pruned at all or will this just spoil the shape? Thank you

Sorry I should have posted this in the 'trees' section. have done so now, so moderators this can be deleted. Apologies.

When it comes down to it there are no such things as " dwarf " conifers. Just slow growing ones. A good gardener could probably keep an upright conifer under control, but the gardener would need to be sympathetic to the tree.:)
