Guessing game

    my mother gave me a good idea for a climbing plant to grow, but unfortunately couldn't remember it's name...
    She gave a good description though so I'm hoping someone can help, she said its a climber possibly beginning with 'E', it flowers in spring/summer and berries in fall/winter, and it has spikes

    Anyone have any idea?

    I'm guessing a pyracantha and she meant P not E :heehee:


    Did she mention the colour of the flowers and/or the colour of the berries?
    Or if it is evergreen or deciduous?
