I have two very old and rusty oil drums in my garden. At a guess I'd say the occupants of the two neighbouring houses used to use them as incinerators and when they each put up new fences between my garden and their gardens the oil drums accidentally found themselves on the wrong side of the new fences.

I have no means of getting rid of them and I'm wondering about converting them to planters, or perhaps tipping one on its side and using it as a seat. They're both very rusty, is it actually worth me buying antirust paint for them or should I just try and camouflage them with plants? At the moment I quite like the idea of them being a bright colour and planted with a small bamboo and some trailing plant too

Get yourself a big sledge hammer and start bashing them flat (towards evening). After a few hours "the occupants of the two neighbouring houses" will be begging you to let them take the barrels away for you.:ideaIPB:

    Cheers, Tony.

      @ Tony. :snork:

Galvafroid paint will do it, you can use a paint system on top of that for whatever final colour you want:)
