    Hi,

Does anyone know if it is okay to plant a pyracantha in part sun/mainly shady corner of the garden against a fence? :what:

Hi Samson, sounds like you have the perfect growing spot there then... They just love to be planted in shade or semi-shade, and grow well against north or east facing walls walls best but grow just as well against a fence . Did you know the berries are edible..?
This recipe was put up by one of our villagers... Not tried it myself, but they have a hedge full of them & she says it is a bit of a faff, but so worth it for the flavour..!!

      Hi Marley,

Thank you for your reply. That is brilliant, will keep that recipe and try it once the berries come out. The plot is at the back of a small section of garden that is kept as a meadow so hopefully the birds will like it too. :spinning:

Marley, you really come up with the goods! I will add yet another recipe of yours into my book.:thankyou:

I've had a Pyracantha in a North facing site in a sheltered corner at the front of my house, where it receives indirect sunlight throughout the day, for the last 25 years. It loves being there and produces loads of berries every year which the birds take advantage of every winter. So I reckon your Pyracantha will be more than happy in the site you're thinking of.:D

:sunny: Thanks Armandii, do tell me if you try it what you think of it.. We have a "Recipe Revival" section on our village portal & every now & then a real gem pops up like this one.. I shall post the recipe in the recipes forum I think for all to try..
