Hi, does anyone know anything about these plants. I inherited them when I moved house and they have flowered every year since. They grow each Summer to about 4 foot high with very showy foliage and then develop yellow lantern like flowers. I would like more of these around the garden but not sure if I can propagate them myself. I've collected the seed from the pods in case I can grow them from seed. I've searched the net but cannot find any info on them save a few pics. Can anyone help?

Try this (but read it all):

    pyrenean lily

If you succeed in getting some seed, bags me some. It's rare. Hope you haven't collected too early. :D

Thanks,Sarraceniac, that's exactly what I've been looking for. I've saved the link for future reference.
The seed heads have been dry for weeks but I left them on the stems. I collected the seed last weekend. the seeds are a few millimeters across and flat but don't look mouldy. Whether they're viable or not is the problem.Still, I'll have a go and follow the propagation methods from the site.
If you're interested in trying the seed, I'll gladly post it to you.

Seed germination for this type of liliy is delayed epigeal. This means that this kind of lily seed is often best sown in Spring after dry storage over winter in the fridge.

Thanks Palustris. I think Terrier is going to send me some (one of us should suss it) so I will try that method for some of them plus a couple of other methods just for insurance. I might even try leaving some outside exposed to winter weather. But with mild winters recently I have found that doesn't often work. So I use the fridge for everything as a back up, even though it is excessively complicated.
