    Hi,

My uncle has been to visit me and brought some potatoes from his garden, but also brought these pair of balls (don't say a word :roflol:) which are growing on the potato stems and thought I'd know. I've never seen them or heard about them. Are they the potato seeds or what are they?

They are potato berries from the flowers and are highly poisonous.

Be aware that potatoes are grown from special baby potatoes called 'seed potatoes', which are something completely different. I'm afraid that your balls belong in the bin! :snork: Because they are, as Scrungee says, poisonous.

Dont worry about the poisonous bit, there are millions of these around at this time of the year and its not like people are dropping like flies.
          Just eat the underground parts.
          not the balls.
