Hi, I hope that someone will be able to help me. I moved into my house 10 years ago and there is a gorgeous jasmine outside my back door, it was very established when I moved in and I have no idea how old it is. However I'm really worried that it is now dead, there appears to be no growth or shoots whatsoever yet. Surely some should have appeared by now? I trim it back every year and during the year as it grows massively normally.
Does it have a lifespan? Can I somehow treat it? I don't think that its diseased at all, my dog has occasionally wee'd on it, but not excessively. Can anyone advise me?
    Thanks
    Siobhan

Hmm!. Well four of us in this area have lost our Jasmines (Officianale) this year. I think that -14 might have been a bit too cold for them. Try cutting a few stems to see if they're still green inside.

My Jasmine looks like a mass of straggly wooden stems but if you look closely, its covered in lots of buds...and it was in the minus celsius here too. They're pretty hardy, so it should recover, especially if its as well established as yours is.

Thanks I will try trimming it and see what happens, like you say it is a mess of stems, can't see any growth, but we have had an exceptionally cold winter, but it is sheltered where it is.
