Just like in life, we all like different things, different presenters, different ideas.

It won`t matter so much as long as they cater to all, beginners of course-it is a wonderful, magical place a garden and people of all ages and stages should be encouraged, but with something for those who already know how to mow a lawn or to pick up the leaves after clipping a hedge. I imagine we`ll get plenty of propagation tips if Toby Buckland has such a large garden to fill. Who can afford the amount of bought in plants they used in the last two series`?

I just hope it doesn`t become changing rooms with grass is all. GW is an institution, and for all my moaning I will, of course, still watch it and learn from it-I`m still a beginner, there`s so much I don`t know and want to find out about.

The Master Classes is a great idea, but I will miss Rachel de Thame if she isn`t on the show anymore, I quite liked her.

That would be a real shame, but yes, can all too easily see that happening. Here's hoping the beeb will rise above the temptation for it to go that way though.

They've all ready done that! :) It was called Ground Force.

I quite liked GF and think it had quite an effect in getting me interested in gardening in the first place!

There is a pattern emerging and I think it involves a certain yorkshireman. (Wouldn`t you know it! :-))

That's a shame about Geoff Smith. I remember that HE was one of those that got me interested in the first place. A real character with his own style. Sad :(

That really is sad about Geoff Smith - along with Geof Hamilton he was my favourite presenter.

    Geoff Smiths philosphy:
"Put the brown end in the soil, the green end above it, and you're in with a much better chance."

I knew he once presented GW but was too young at the time so don`t remember him.

Geoff Hamilton is the first presenter I saw and it was his pure joy at just being in a garden that set me off.
