Aloha everyone,

The sun is just coming up to clear away the frost.

It will be a busy day today.

9 a.m. Dave the electrician is coming to try and sort out our lights that have blown in the lounge. They are two overhead, triple light, fittings and he will rewire them if he can get to the innards. Otherwise it will mean buying new units. In the meantime we have very little lighting in the lounge.

9.15 a.m. Tom is bringing back the computer from hospital. It has had a hard drive transplant, reinstallation of all the programmes and data (I hope) and is going to need a new power pack. The power pack is noisy, until the computer has warmed up enough, and may last a long time or pack up fairly soon. As I don't want it to pack up and then have to wait for a new powerpack I've asked Tom to order one now. He said it will only take 15 minutes to fit it when it arrives. I'm going to need to spend quite some time checking that all the data is there and in the right place. 85,000 photos, 20,000 Word documents, 7,000 filed emails, 3,000 email addresses, a couple of hundred PowerPoint presentations, a load of Excel files and a number of other stored info

11 a.m. take Mrs Shiney to the eye clinic (three towns away) for routine tests (I have to take her as she will need drops in her eyes).

2 p.m. meeting

4 p.m. meeting

7 p.m. bridge club

I may get time around midnight to check the computer out!

Then I have to catch up on all the things I couldn't do because the computer was ill. With a bit of luck I may catch up by next week

Cold and frosty morning but most likely be taking a nice ride today to garden centres...got to replace those other two bottle brushes ....i hope they have something

Morning early people

Inverter went tits up yesterday, so it might not have been just the cold that was affecting me laptop batteries

£40 later and I've got a new one now They don't do a car charger so I have to step up 12 volts dc to 230 v ac, then back down to 15 volts dc
