Went to plant fair on Sunday. Won a salvia 'Bordeaux' in raffle, so bought salvia Amistad, Sebastian and sagitatta as well. Could not resist Myrtus ugni even though I'm not likely to get a pie's worth of fruit from it. Also a doodia fern and small perovskia.

 

@ARMANDII I wonder if it is a good hairball advancer. Cats seem to know what roughage to eat in order to push hairballs through and out their systems.

I one babysat a rabbit for a relative and silly me let it have a little run round the kitchen because I figured that since all the entries have doors, I could shut it in there to enjoy time out of the cage.

Came back later to discover it had eaten all of the lower foliage on my anthurium. Silly Lori

But it did work out well because it was then more of a Christmas tree shape. Put those cute little lights on it come December.

Not a plant purchase but a purchase for plants …. or seeds right now.

I was struggling with prop space for seeds and the heated bed isn't ideal in the middle of winter so I weakened and bought this. Arrived yesterday - really well packed but with soooooo much plastic packaging. Now set up in the outbuilding with the first few trays of seeds (musa and ensete). If I run out of space I'm thinking of creating a second level for seed trays (somehow??)

 

My purchase today was a Cornbeef Pie, sorry I can't show a pic as I ate it

 

You'll have to be careful with the Pennisetum Rubrum they not really that hardly, it may do better with your sandy soil . Mine kicked the bucket after the first hardish frost , Shame really very nice grass otherwise.

 

Hi @andrews do you have a link for the source of that maxi propagator please? I have a heated base but looking for a top that matches its somewhat peculiar shape.

Luckily he dropped the bags right next to the spot where the planter will sit. I was expecting the planter yesterday but it didn't turn up. That means I have time to cut the paddock hedge …..joy!
