Amazing blue skies today with unbroken :hotsun:, but still a stiff sea breeze blowing in. Had long walk on deserted beach with rolling, crashing waves. Deserted of other humans that is, plenty of birds around. Watched a flock of either Chuffs or Crows performing an aerobatical display. Saw my first Tern of 2020.

This afternoon I removed an Aqualegia and a Toadflax from two small pots I stuck them in at the beginning of winter and put them both into one larger pot. Then changed my mind, removed the Toadflax and put a Lithodora in it's place and the Toadflax into the raised patio bed. These are all temporary measures and part of the grand plan to have less pots. Also removed another Aqualegia from a pot and stuck that into the raised patio bed too. Went and contemplated the bed under the Cherry tree and then went and contemplated the area to the side of the pond. I'll take some pics tomorrow and explain a bit more as need some advice. Got a zero out and read for awhile before watching the Sparrows and Rabbit politics taking place in the runs :)

Today I have been sweeping leaves up from the huge trees that surround my home. It is hard to stay on top of it all lol. Also been weeding out the herb garden.:autlvs:

The ones that have been in the borders for around 4 years, shiney, have also formed the long sheaths for flowering, but the ones that have been grown in the pots, for the now cancelled local Garden Club sale, are still weeks away from doing so:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

I've dug out three big buckets of nettles and thistle that seem to have grown whilst my back was turned.

I’ve deadheaded the last of the tete-a-tetes, and the first of the “normal” daffodils that were going over, and admired the wildlife in the pond. Tadpoles are starting to swim around, but still are more of a semi-colon shape than the classic tadpole shape... I sowed some half-rows of cut-n-come-again lettuce, beetroot leaves (bulls’ blood - couldn’t resist the name in the seed catalogue!), normal beetroot, and carrots, in between the onion sets. :psnp:

Oh, and planted the last two rows of onion sets.... After last year’s solo carrot, we are not expecting much :heehee:, but I had the seeds, and it’s either in the veg bed, or the compost, for them!
Then I stirred myself to action, did a poop-scoop, and then cut the grass. Not much taken off - just two grass-boxes, but it looks a lot tidier. Spotted that the Morel cherry, and the President plum have just come into flower. That’s all of the plums now out, and just one cherry to go...
Whilst cutting The grass, I admired the orange-tip butterfly that kept passing me, as well as a small blue flutter-by (don’t know which of the small blues it was, as we were both on the move!), a brimstone, and a tortoiseshell...
Then it was upstairs to get changed into something cooler, and time to sit by the pond again!!

                        Hello all

I hope you are all well.

As for what I have been doing in the garden today, does procrastinating count :)

Seriously though, more weeding and then some more weeding, all fun.

                        Kevin

Sunbathing, eating, drinking tea. Oh and planted a few strawb plants, taken from my lotty, into the garden.

I'm reckoning that's a Thuja something else, or if a Boulevard them a Chamaecyparis ... or somewhere you went for a stroll :)

But maybe there is a Thuja that is a Boulevard? If so I'd like a photo please to see if I can't afford not to have one :)

No, I was incorrect, Kristen, it is a Chamaecyparis and not a Thuja. I probably linked Thuja to that fact that I thought the tree was behaving like a Thug(a):doh:by dropping those hundreds of spikey bits of dead foliage down my neck, inside my T-shirt and depositing a thick mat of it on and in my hair.:dunno::heehee:
However, if I renamed it as a Thuja Boulevard would you like to buy it at a hugely inflated price due to it's "rarity"???:doh:
