    Hi,

Wondered if there are any easy ways to remove the remains of the Ivys dried roots from brickwork after the main body has been removed and the thick roots scrapped off ?

This particular wall has Rustic bricks so they seem really difficult to remove due to the bricks rough texture. Have read about using a blow torch , but the upvc is too near to risk trying that.

We have tried that but it does leave the bricks surface rather scuffed, hoping there was some less abrasive way.

Its next doors wall actually, he has tried a pressure washer, but its very stubborn and too much pressure it can start to loosen the mortar, so creating more mess and work for him!

I cleared some trellis of Boston ivy suckered roots with 60 grit sandpaper, not an easy way I know but it does work.

A tedious, but successful, way to do it is a wallpaper scraper carefully levered under it. Any stubborn bits can usually be removed by a light tap on the handle of the scraper with a small hammer - like using a chisel.
