    Morning Everyone,

Spring is here as I have crocus flowering and daffodils ... just need a dry sunny week to cheer us all up and let us out of our winter caves which we have all been in too long over winter..

Amazingly some plant varieties I have never grown before.

Calibrachoa being one of them, I was looking at Brookside Nursery and they have some really tempting colours as you can see .... plus you pick your week to have the plants delivered which is a big bonus to me.

My questions are, do they keep flowering until the first frost like surfinia petunias. I have 16inch basket which I use a old compost bag to line it black facing outwards , will the calibrachoa hang over this to cover and hide or like different varieties of Petunias some varieties trail better than others ..

As usual I look forward to your replies.

Spruce (still not decided what to grow in the hanging baskets)

I have grown a few of these but cant say I find them as easy to grow as some others.
I probably, wrongly, stick them in the petunia category.

I thought they would perform similar to the old Million Bells type petunia but I think they are a bit more fussy.
Mine grew but not to the extent I was expecting.

I buy all my plug plants from Brookside Nursery. Delivery and quality is always spot on :dbgrtmb:
Calibrachoa are one of my favourite basket plants a lot smaller than petunias but they will flower right through to late October. Some colours do seem to grow better than others, I have noticed that the double flower varieties don't do as well, so I stick to the single flower ones now.

PS Just noticed they have listed Petchoas at the bottom of the page. I didn't have much luck with this type, size is between a cali and a petunia, so not on my shopping list now.
