Can any one suggest a plant food for the Bearded Iris please , I have them in pots and I have never fed them but they have always flowered until last year where it was hit and miss.

      Hi,
You have to be so careful with so many fertilisers (Nitrogen is the killer) with Iris as too much can kill them. dont use any of the liquid fertilisers ...

Bone meal or blood fish and bone used now lightly over the soil and again late August or a rose granular feed is ideal ...

Normally with Iris when they dont flower they may require splitting. keep the new rhizome and discard the old parts

      Hope that helps

Thanks spruce, it's forecast rain for tomorrow so
sprinkling blood fish and bone today should help wash it it down to the roots.
