Good morning all. Very cold this morning but the sun is shining so I am sad to have to be at work all day. OH is helping youngest daughter move this morning before work then a really late shift and tomorrow is the busiest day of the year for anywhere serving food. He will be tired.

Beautiful sunshine this morning. Canal walk later and meeting up with daughter, SIL and granddaughter for lunch.
Will probably potter in the garden this afternoon, although hope it’s warmer than yesterday. The wind was quite icy again.

Horrendous news this morning from Myanmar and Thailand. Those poor, poor people. I'm ashamed of whinging about the weather, buses not turning up etc. etc. My heart goes out to them and the rescuers. Lets hope countries rally round to send assistance. I believe Russia has already sent aid.

 

Hope work goes smoothly @Debs64 and you don't have any cantankerous customers. Safe journey to Poitiers @Busy-Lizzie and enjoy your time with the family. It is very cool here @Butterfly6 but I've risked putting a washing load on.

 

Any of you active on Facebook Market place, we are. Putting lots of items on it, doing decent. Goal to get rid of stuff we don't need, have stuff, sadly too much stuff. But folks are out there who what things.

Not too clever @Penny_Forthem. I hope it's not a bad break and heals well. You'll be needing someone to drive OH to bushcraft for a while and his help to prick out seedlings and pot them on.

I had a brief sortie down the garden to see the chooks, take them their sweetcorn and check on plants in the polytunnel and I've watered my nursery of pots but didn't stay out long as there was a very nippy breeze. Retreated indoors to do some admin, alter a dress and finish another. I've also put the last hand sewn touches to my stained glass windo patchwork after partially dismantling it to show the others how to finish the edge and backing.

I've also cut my fringe and gone thru my summer wardrobe shedding stuff to the charity pile as I have changed size so no gardening but not a lost day. OH has been out playing a competition at the top end of the Vendée at St Jean des Monts and will be home in time for dinner - vegetarian hotpot as per Nigel Haworth.

I don't sell stuff @redstar. If it's useful or decorative it goes to a community recycling centre for sale or donation to help the poor and disadvantaged. Otherwise it goes to the dump.

Oh no @Penny_Forthem - I hope you aren’t in too much pain and that it’s a straightforward ‘experience’. Hope it’s your non-dominant arm so things will be a bit easier. Let us know how you are when you can.

Just prepped supper so that’s cooking away - chicken and veg satay bake thingy. Smells good anyway.

A Heron has landed in the garden 3 times today! We do have a pond and years ago we had fish in it.

Evening all, that's a big blow @Penny_Forthem, hope you're not in much pain and are being looked after in A & E.

It's been another busy day in the garden, a bit warmer than yesterday thankfully. Finished manuring the roses and did the clematis as well. Did some pruning and weeding then helped
OH replace the ropes on the Shade Sail with new ratchet straps I bought yesterday. They help to keep the Sail taut.

I have just sold a sofa on Ebay - never again, so much more complicated than it used to be a few years ago. Most of my small unwanted stuff goes to the charity shop but our Council charges to take away unwanted furniture and the charity shops here usually take ages to collect goods so I thought Ebay might be worth a go.

I've had a very intriguing parcel arrive from my son for Mother's Day. It's quite heavy and marked fragile but I'm told it's not plants. Whatever could it be and can I wait till tomorrow to find out?!!

Must go and change my bedside clock and watch.
