@Penny_Forthem that is impressive considering its Sunday and good on your Hub. I am wishing you all the best for your appointment tomorrow as I'm signing out for today. Got a boiler engineer coming tomorrow afternoon and hopefully he can sort out the problem. Quiz league starts again tomorrow night and we are at home. See you all in the morning.

Best wishes to @Penny_Forthem for a speedy recovery!
It's been a lovely day; not particularly hot, but sunny and spring-like. No church this morning so I got the bedding washed and on the line, then spent most of the rest of the day gardening. Now I'm quite tired... but happy!

It was a lovely day here - did some jobs in garden and in MIL’s. Her Spring bulbs that we planted in Autumn are looking fantastic, and I gave her some Summer-flowering bulbs to replace.

My hands are looking dry, scrammed and a bit grubby (I had gloves on most of the time!) so the gardening season has definitely begun!

Have a good night’s sleep all.

That all sounds quite positive @Penny_Forthem. I do hope it continues thus.

I have cooked up a storm today - cooked breakfast for lunch then a bacon and onion fritata for our lunches this week, an Italian car rot and orange cake to take to patch tomorrow, 18 carb free blueberry and almond muffins for Possum's breakfasts, rhubarb crumble for dessert tonight and a baked potato and onion rosti to have for dinner with duck breast and home grown PSB. I ran out of mixing bowls!

There are wild daffodils here that look really bonny @AuntyRach - creamy petals and a slightly richer corona on medium stems so not too susceptible to strong winds. They spread well in pastures here that are a bit too moist for arable use. Gorgeous. I have a few here and am trying to spread them but it's slow. Three cornered leeks on the other hand spread with gay abancon.

Hello there everyone. My daffodils are just starting to go over now so I will have a busy time dead heading soon. Today I just feel I won't be able to settle to anything waiting for the boiler engineer to arrive. That will be another annoying job crossed off the 'to do' list
Snap @Obelix-Vendée (well not quite) but I will be pulling my first rhubarb to make a crumble tomorrow.
@Fourmerkland that is a lot of metal! Hmmm, I wonder if you can knock that little lot off your weight? Good luck this morning @Penny_Forthem. I hope all goes well today in preparation for next week. @Busy-Lizzie will you be travelling back home today from your daughter's? If so have a safe journey.

              Good morning to you all!

Still windy here, but sunny. Cool. The wind has dropped a bit so I may manage a bike run with Fizz in a minute. It will have to be swift as I have a funny tum this morning. Better not venture too far from home!!

Those almonds and blueberry no-carb muffins sound ideal @Obelix-Vendée Is the recipe on BBC? I have planted a rhubarb plant, raspberry canes and gooseberry bushes - all sprouting. I probably won't have fruit until next season.

My daffodils are finished too @Ladybird4 and although some freesias are out, they have been battered rather by the wind. I hope that elusive boiler engineer turns up. I have sowed a few acid-free (Roma) tomatoes - I will squeeze them in somehow - if they come up.

I wish you all a happy Monday!

Thank you for the idea @Ladybird4
Does that mean I can also exclude my denture, fillings, VNS implant and all its wiring, from my weight? I hadn't considered the possibility!!
I love the idea of rhubarb crumble too. We don't grow rhubarb (yet).

                  Good morning all.

@Ladybird4 we came back from my daughter's yesterday evening.

Looks as though it will be a sunny day. Time to start the vegetable garden.

I can't grow rhubarb in France, I think the summers are too hot.

What a shock for you, @Penny_Forthem. So glad you are getting looked after, and have a date for the repair op.
Sounds as if everyone is getting outside in the good weather! We had a walk and a coffee by the sea yesterday morning, but then after a rather nice lunch, I couldn’t find the energy to do anything much for the rest of the afternoon. The problem with putting some beef and red wine in the slow cooker yesterday morning, meant that I had over half a bottle of wine left over, so I had a glass with the meal. Explains my lethargy for the rest of the day! Plus time taken up with Mother’s Day calls from the children , it seemed bedtime came round rather quickly.

As usual, I seem to have only two days left to fill the green waste bins! I’ve been out for an hour and filled a big bag with gaultheria, it really is trying to take over the world! The robins have been very excited about the disturbance to the earth where I’ve extracted the long pink shoots.
Over morning coffee, I’m also reading up what to do next with my seeds in trays. Some of them are looking very vigorous, especially the sunflowers and the hollyhocks. I really have no idea what I’m doing, but luckily there are lots of videos to look at, and I have plenty of pots and potting on compost. Also need to get the new poppy plants into the ground.

                      Morning.
I slept well, considering. Was able to go to the loo without waking hub.
Son is taking me to the fracture clinic this afternoon, then I'll know what/when is to be done.
Tesco deliveries booked till end of April and dog food ordered.
Am desperate to go to the greenhouse and organise some watering; if hub can pull the retractable hose out, I can sit there and spray it everywhere!

                        Good afternoon,

Well it’s been a gorgeous day here today, feeling much warmer because that awful breeze has gone. It spoilt the weather yesterday by making it feel so chilly, too chilly to garden. Today, I did a bit of weeding when I got back from the cemetery. Pesky dandelions popping up everywhere, (usually in difficult to reach spots), plus other weed seedlings getting into the pots. Anyway, that passed a satisfying half hour and I would have continued but had an unexpected visit from my cousin.

I hope all went well at the clinic @Penny_Forthem, and you are now clear about what is going to be done and when. Glad you managed to sleep well.

Think I’ll pop out and water a few pots, they’re looking a bit dry.

Pleased you got back safely @Busy-Lizzie and good (ish) news about the speed you are being seen to @Penny_Forthem. @Blue arbour I have been in the GH watering my baby tomatoes and checking my baby mini dahlias on my spare room window sill. It has turned into a pleasant evening.
Guess who has been waiting like an eejit for the boiler engineer today? I had to text him eventually to cancel as I will be leaving shortly to go to our quiz match. Apparently he has been dealing with a gas leak all afternoon and asked to rearrange. Wednesday 9th is my next attempt! Ho hum. Wish he'd texted me to let me know.
Going to wish you all pleasant evenings as we say goodbye to March. See you tomorrow you lovely lot.

                              Hello folks!

My robin is cross with me. I've festooned the lowest branches of the apple trees with old CDs, which rotate and catch the light, in an attempt to get a few more apples this year than last. The bullfinches are beautiful, but I'd like them to confine their bud eating to the tops of the trees, where I can't reach the fruit to pick it anyway...

However, the robin clearly Does Not Approve. He normally sits nearby while I'm gardening, and darts in to grab any tasty morsels I uncover. Not this afternoon, though, even though I found several soil grubs, normally his favourite food. I had to put them in a plant saucer and leave it a distance away from me before he'd come and eat them. Ah well, perhaps he'll get used to the flashing lights!

White rabbits! White rabbits! Pinch and a punch for the first of the month. We were absolutely thrashed last night but it was good to get back into the quiz atmosphere. I am planning on going into the city today - Preston that is not Manchester. I have some M&S gift tokens I got for my birthday burning holes in my pockets and when I tried to use them online I got a message saying that the items I fancied could not be bought using them. Not impressed. I really hate cities so I will have to brace myself.
