We had a lazy start today as well @Ergates. I've decamped to the guest bedroom so that I didn't keep waking OH up with constant coughing. Felt better yesterday than I do today so only did two shortish stints in the garden and some ironing. Ironing was a matter of necessity because the pile kept threatening to fall over!

@Butterfly6, try a regular back and hips massage. I have one every month and it seems to help with aches and pain. A warm bath before bed might also help. If the hip pain gets worse though, you might need an Xray or CT scan to rule out (or in), dodgy hips.

Good that you're out of hospital @Penny_Forthem and eating better food at home. How is OH doing as head cook and bottle washer? I do have to say that when I was in hospital last, the food was quite good. Hope you recover well and get more mobile as the days past.

Thank you @Butterfly6 and @Ladybird4. We are taking an afternoon flight tomorrow, then a train then friends in our village will meet us at the station in the evening. There won't be much packing, we just take one small bag. Cases can cost more than passengers with Ryanair!

We went to church this morning followed by the church coffee morning, Palm Sunday. Then I did some gardening then ironing while we watched the Boat Race, recorded. The right boat won! Both my parents and 2 of my brothers went to that Uni.

What a bummer about Malvern, @lizzie27. Maybe next year? I hope you have a good time in the Isle of Wight.

Good morning all. It's raining, and even worse, it's Monday. We have school till Friday, then Easter breaks will start. Good Friday is bank holiday here. Now is time to go. Have a nice day all of you.

Good morning @Ante1 and all dropping in soonish. I know Monday is your most unfavourite day @Ante1 but it will soon pass. It was very cold in my house when I woke up this morning so I've put on the heating. Judging by the tree movement outside, it is quite windy so I'll judge the garden work a little later. I can always find jobs I can do in either the garage or the GH.

Good morning everyone, early start today, and rest if week for us. We have our youngest GD here, she's doing work experience at Chase Farm Hospital Enfield, the next 4 days. We live nearer than they do so we've been volunteered to ferry her to and fro. He mum is going to do some pick ups, work permitting. At least it's still dry and bright this morning.

I hadn’t thought about a massage @lizzie27, will look into that. I luxuriated in the bath each night on holiday and it does help. Unfortunately we only have a shower at home. I don’t miss a bath at all most of the time, but nothing like it for easing aches and pains. I will see how I am this week and if it carries on the same I think I probably should make an appointment to see the GP.

The sun is lovely and bright this morning so think we will make the most of it and a walk round Sutton Park. This afternoon onwards looks very mixed this week. Am hoping we get some proper rain to fill the water butts - hopefully some short heavy showers rather than lots of drizzly days, fingers crossed.

I was going to work this morning but have swapped for this afternoon so I can ale the most of the weather today. One of the pleasures of working for myself and at home.

                  Good morning to you all!!

Dismal here again and we're in for a dismal week. April showers!! Good for the garden.

Home is the best place for recuperation @Penny_Forthem Enjoy the rest.
                  Bon voyage @Busy-Lizzie Happy landing!
Painful hips and thighs don't sound good @Butterfly The rainy weather doesn't help. Yes, it is part of getting older but can be fixed.

No gardening today - the place is a mire.

Good morning all bright sunshine here but off to work so no garden time. The weekend flew by as usual. I hosted an Easter afternoon tea yesterday all went well, just 5 of us old friends and my sister. I now have far too many leftover cakes and biscuits in the house plus half a tub of clotted cream I may make a rice pudding with that. Work this week will be busier than usual but head office have compensated for that by making sure we are also understaffed. Fingers crossed nobody goes off sick. OH starts new job today hopefully he will be less tired. Enjoy your Monday everyone

Got a text at 9pm last night to advise that the boiler service would be done in the afternoon today. No sun this morning, but it was dry and bright so we headed out. Quiet first thing, but by 9.30, loads of crowds, kids and families out to enjoy the school holidays. We had a lovely walk round the fields and hardly saw a soul.
Back in time for a call from the service engineer. The boiler has passed its physical, despite being 20 years old! It now has some new seals and gaskets, and good for a bit longer. I will have to take the plunge and arrange for a new one during the summer though. I think it’s living on borrowed time, and don’t want it to fail during the colder months. We will go for the same brand as it has been so reliable, my sister got the same after years of her previous boiler needing attention on a regular basis, and has also been very happy with it.

I have done some weeding and dug up some bamboo, but I still have room in the green bins for Wednesday. I’d better not rely on getting anything done tomorrow, we now have a new weather warning, heavy rain and danger of flooding. Looks like a day at home.

I planted some nasturtium seeds in my new propagator last month, but nothing came up. I had some left over in the pack, so I planted those last week. I’ve just checked on them and there are seedlings sprouting! Look very healthy, I wonder what I did wrong with the first lot?
