All good wishes to you and your Hub @Penny_Forthem ! I hope you enjoy the day, your Indian meal and the Fizz! Forget about the grim day at hospital, slowly but surely you are going to get there.

Good morning to everyone else waking up to enjoy today. We were beaten again last night but not as comprehensively as last time so we weren't too upset. Of course we have another rest day next Monday as it is Bank Holiday again.
@lizzie27 you know my feelings about M&S trousers now so when I read your post I felt sympathy.

        Good morning to you all!!

Happy Twenty Fifth @Penny_Forthem I hope you mark the day.

Sunny and bright so far, so I think I will have to wash my windows - again.

Morning @Ladybird4 and @Tui34 and anybody else just about to log on.

I awoke early this morning so have been sitting in bed with a cuppa, contemplating our back garden which I can see as it slopes up from the house. I still find it astonishing that there were no windows on the north side of the house when we bought it - the old idea I suppose that it kept the warmth in! That was soon remedied when we had the house completely renovated, such a blessing and well worth the extra cost.

Best wishes to @Penny_Forthem on your 25th, hope you have a lovely day to make up for such a stressful day yesterday - enjoy the fizz tonight.

I've got to return the camis to M&S this morning, a bit too tight under the arms. Rather a nuisance as I don't think they had the white ones in my usual size in stock. I did take one out of an already opened packet and it looked quite big enough - wrong! Their online orders are still paused whilst they sort out the cyber attack so that's not an option today. The forecast is up to 24c today so I'd better get there and back early.

Just seen on the news that there is a proposal to let male radiographers take mammographs because of the shortage of staff. I don't think that is a good idea, I certainly wouldn't like it, it's bad enough having a strange woman do it, let alone a man.

          Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning everyone, very poor night's sleep, far too hot by 5 am,this early in the year it doesn't bode well. Had to water everything last evening.
Take care if it's hot where you are.

Good company. Good food. Good weather. Lots of flowers and cards.
What more could I ask for, for my birthday weekend.
Everything went according to plan. Small human visitor was kept happily occupied with the shopping bag full of toys and games I provided, I almost made a whoopsy as I thought she was 4 years old but she is only 2! It didn't matter though, she of course had to take everything out of the bag, and tip them all onto the floor but the pinging shop till was the biggest hit. My great, great niece, as beguiling as a 2 years old, blonde, curly headed, big blue eyed small human could possibly be. She would not come near me but that didn't matter. I haven't taken it personally!
My niece and I were able to have a comforting cuddle and had time to reminiss about my late sister. She gave me a snuff box, which had belonged to my grandfather, which my sister had inherited, and I gave my niece a framed phototgraph of her mother with me and our mother.
I was shattered yesterday, spent quite a long time flat out on the sofa, examining the insides of my eyes very carefully.
Feel better today. Onwards and upwards.

To answer your question @Ladybird4 - horse boarding is a bit like water skiing but with a horse on land instead of a boat on water.

Glad you had a good both day @Goldenlily26 and Happy Anniversary to @Penny_Forthem

We had a very enjoyable day yesterday Goldstone Hall was a real treat. Not a very big garden (5 acres?) but very pretty and tucked away so a scenic drive to get there. I’ve requested lunch there for my birthday in May, fingers crossed for similar weather. Biddulph Grange was also enjoyable and much quieter so we could have a proper look around.

Glorious sunshine again today so will probably potter in the garden. I want to do the final box moth spray and then nature can decide their fate after that. Am now feeling quite pragmatic about it and starting to think about what I might do if/when the worst happens. I certainly won’t be hanging onto the box if it gets as bad as Monty’s at Longmeadow.

Just need to go into the office to do a few emails first.

Our wisteria is in full flower and the scent is divine, I wish I could waft some onto the thread.

Would love to have a wisteria! There are several amazing specimens in the village.
Had a wonderful day yesterday. Son came down to collect the dog, so we spent much of the day at the Donkey sanctuary. Went for breakfast, then had a walk, then elevenses, and another walk, and then stayed on for a late lunch! Felt like being on holiday, and had a great catch up. Now I’ve got her blankets and bedding to wash, and a welcome reprieve from her snoring!

Today, we have a busy day in the garden. It’s green bin day tomorrow, and with all the distractions, both bins are empty! Lots of cutting back needs doing, but very little can be tackled with all the bird nesting going on. Will have to restrict myself to bits that I can clearly see. There are also tons of twigs cluttering up the path at the top of the garden, so I might gather some of those up. OH is threatening to cut some grass. He will be lucky to find any, there is so much moss after the damp and shady winter, that it’s like walking on a really rich and spongy carpet, with inches of underlay! I’d also like to retrieve some of the primroses first, and transplant them onto my newly cleared bank. Breakfast is finished, emails read, so I’d better get outside and get on with it.

25 years ago, it rained in the morning, but by 2, the sun was out and it was warm.
Horse boarding looks fun for the humans. Not sure what the horse makes of it!
I will be starting physio soon, I hope. I can't help but wonder what fiendishly tortuous device the French have devised for exercising the upper arm/shoulder.

I still don’t have my second garden bin (“high demand”) so even though it’s bin day, it will be full again by this afternoon as I have 2 builder’s sacks full waiting. I should go the tip but can’t be bovvered atm.

Have a lovely day all - I hope everyone has some sunshine.

Bright and sunny here but a cool start cos of the clear skies and breeze. Set to get to 25C today and tomorrow then cooler on Thursday but just the one day then cooler and damp again form Sunday, of course. It's really nice to breakout the shorts, strappy top, flip flops and sunscreen even for just a few days.

I've been busy in the polytunnel preparing the smaller bed for some tomatoes which are already starting to flower - hoeing, raking in the compost and diatomaceous earth then laying the seep hose. It's all had a good watering and I've left that soaking in while we have lunch. All the seedlings and divisions have been watered too and more pricking out needed this pm.

Have a lovely day @Penny_Forthem even if your celebrations are not as planned.

Glad you enjoyed your family gathering @Goldenlily26 and that you were able to rest afterwards.

We have 3+ wisterias @Ergates - 2 inherited against the annex and garage walls and the latter has sent out suckers so there are no 5 small ones in the bed where a feeble magnolia died, despite loads of TLC to try and save it. Still working out what to do with them, maybe train them into a pergola or arch or some sort of standard. The third is an almost white one I planted along the front of the veg plot and which now needs taller supports. They're all going over now but, if I dead head a bit, will repeat flower sporadically for months.

Enjoy your day everyone, whether working, playing or resting.
