Morning....brrrrr.... a shock to the system!
Thank you @Ladybird4, @Blue arbour and @Goldenlily26 for your votes of confidence.
It looks like I will have to drive to the SM today, as the dog food, due last Thursday, still hasn't been delivered and won't be till Tuesday, as tomorrow is a B/H. Can't have our little dears starving, can we? I shall complain about the poor service.
I wonder if they'll be renaming Master chef? Prime chef? Err..:)
Professional bakeoff returns this week, with the impeccable Cherish and Benoit.
Enjoy your Sundays everyone (and your holiday, @Butterfly6)

      Good Morning all.

Eek @Butterfly6 - is it worth a trip to a minor injuries place to have your toe checked?? I hope it won’t spoil your holiday as it sounds lovely.

Take care everyone as it’s a BH it’s peak accidents and injuries weekend!

Have a smashing Sunday whether you are gardening, out and about, church or quiet.

        Good afternoon,

Well, it’s certainly a different day weather wise, being very blustery and feeling a lot cooler. I feel sorry for anyone who had planned any bank holiday outdoor family events today.

I’ve not done a lot today really, just a tidy round downstairs this afternoon and church this morning. I’m relaxing in front of the tv now and might read my book later. No gardening today as it’s too blustery for me.

I do hope your toe feels easier today @Butterfly6, but agree with @AuntyRach that it might be an idea to get it checked over.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

Not been too bad a day.
Been weeding around the snapdragons, so had to take a pic
They were quite weedy last year.

Good afternoon all. Ouch ouch ouch @Butterfly6 that is not the start to a holiday you want. I have to agree with @AuntyRach and @Blue arbour though. As a complete and totally irrelevant change of subject, who can remember the x-ray machines outside of shoe shops where you could push your foot in and see the bones in your feet? I used to love having a go with them.
Did you get to the SM @Penny_Forthem? Pets come first - always! Oh my days but that snapdragon looks absolutely delicious! Stunning!

Evening all. Looks like veryone's been having a good day except for a toe.

I have been confined to barracks, sewing. Needed to get a trousse finished so I can help show others how it's done tho, needless to say, I have done it by machine and made a few changes so it's not as floppy as the original model.

Other than that, belly pork and carrots are roasting gently and separately in the oven, I've been and watered the pots in the veg plot and collected all the spare curcubits I'm hoping to find homes for tomorrow. All tucked up now in the back of Harry.

Have a lovely evening everyone with a good dinner and a good sleep to set us up for tomorrow.

PS @AuntyRach I am mistress of many things here and masterful at some activities so we definitely have a master bedroom.

                    Hello everyone.

I hope you managed and enjoyed The Old Vicarage, @Butterfly6. Are you visiting Norfolk as well as Suffolk? There are some lovely gardens in both. Have you been to Fuller's Mill?

We went to church and caught up with friends in France over coffee afterwards.

I spent the afternoon in the veg garden. Hard going as it's still sticky clay, despite all the compost it has had. It got another 2 bagfuls today. I planted 3 courgettes (green, yellow and round), 2 cucumbers and a row of beetroot plants. Yesterday I planted my tomatoes with a row of French marigolds and I sowed perpetual spinach.

It's French Mothers' Day today so I had messages and phone calls from my children.

Evening folks, I've had a lazy day today, we didn't wake up very early so meals have been around two hours later than usual. Did a bit of garden pottering and tidying up but it's been very breezy with some very strong gusts late afternoon - so much so that our new shade sail came adrift despite the stranger ratchet straps I'd got. We ended up having to take the lot down and are having second thoughts over the whole idea.

Whats a trousse @Obelix-Vendée? Presumably something you're making.

Our clay garden is still rock hard @Busy-Lizzie, despite several bouts of heavy rain. Yours is still wet after that extreme rain storm you had recently I suppose. We're never happy are we!!

That snapdragon looks delicious @Penny_Forthem , I'm really getting into those apricot/peachy shades this year. Keep up with the driving practice, every day if you can manage it - you'll soon get your confidence back and will be able to drive up to the van.

My toe is feeling a lot better, thank you for everyone’s good wishes and concern. I have broken a toe before and all you can do is a bit of strapping and painkillers so no need to bother any professionals. I think it was just bruised as it’s only a little sore now and given how purple it was am surprised at how quickly the bruising is fading. Must be the sea air!

We went to East Ruston yesterday and it was a treat. The garden is well worth a visit if anyone is in the area. A real sense of theatricality and personality. Plus a good tearoom which keeps OH happy. The weather was glorious yesterday and hoping for similar today as we are planning to spend most of it on the beach.

We’re just staying in Southwold, @Busy-Lizzie, but OH is happy to drive out for special gardens. It was just 1hr 15 from here, quiet roads and a scenic route so the journey was enjoyable too. I haven’t heard of Fullers Mill so will google that one.

Am watching the morning sun over wide water meadows whilst I have a quiet breakfast. Everyone else is still in bed, including little E

Have a good bank holiday. Oh, think I can here footsteps on the stairs…

Good morning. I'm up very early for me thanks to feline antics - visitors, Mum I've caught a mousey etc - and it is bright and sunny but cool. I have fed the cats, topped up the hen and garden bird feeders, selected baby asparagus and Mexican hats to go to new homes, made my lunch and set off a wash.

@lizzie27 a trousse can be a pencil case, make-up bag and so on. This is the model for today
                            Trousse extérieure.jpg
No idea what I'll do with mine yet.

@Busy-Lizzie clay soils can be hard work but at least they're fertile and reward effort. We're lucky in that the veg plot is quite loamy after being part of a cow pasture and then a donkey paddock.

OH has excelled himself and rotavated two long beds now and the hens have been havinga fine time in there but he had a hissy fit yesterday evening when I said I wanted the two new garden beds rotavated asap so I could get them planted before my English gardens trip in June. All he has to do is turn over the topsoil and help me carry pots. No planting as he has black thumbs.

Happy Monday everyone with lots of fun and satisfaction.

Pleased to read that the bruising on your poor toe is subsiding @Butterfly6. @lizzie27 I had to look up trousse as it was a new word to me and apparently it is a pencil case. Maybe it could be any little bag and I wondered if that was where we get the word trousseau from. I love languages and word derivations.
The weather keeps alternating between glimpses of sunshine and then clouding over. Wish it would make its mind up.
