Good morning @Obelix-Vendée - our posts crossed there! That is so pretty. I came downstairs to find a 'body part' in the middle of the kitchen floor. Deep joy!

      Good morning to you all!!

Sunny and and then overcast - it's still windy here which is tiring.

Up went the covering over the pergola, so the windows will be shadier for the summer.

I sprayed with water and squished as many sticky blackfly as possible on my broad beans. Picked some for the salad and they didn't seem to affected by the blight.

I hope you all have a good start to the week.

        Good morning all.

My hands are aching this morning from working in the veg garden over the weekend.
Seeing rows of growing plants is very satisfying but I hope we manage to eat some of them.

I am going to a garden club vegetable group meeting this afternoon. There will be cake.

I'm glad you enjoyed The Old Vicarage, @Butterfly6.

Where are you planning to visit gardens in England @Obelix-Vendée ?

Yesterday was an achievement for me.
The weather was awful. Strong, gusty, freezing wind, intermittent downpours and sunshine. I had a quiet morning then sallied forth to my croquet club, the first time in over 2 years. I couldn't understand why there was so much traffic until I saw the evening news. A Food Festival in Newquay. There were only 8 of us playing which was fine, two sets of doubles. I only played one game but really enjoyed it. I was recognised by a man who joined the club briefly 16 years ago! I am stiff all over this morning but not too badly, to my surprise. I must now make the effort to go regularly, twice a week.

Good morning all. Dry here and windy hope it lingers until my washing dries! Dreaded housework today as I have visitors for lunch tomorrow. I was hoping to distract them from the mucky house with my garden and sit out there but the forecast is for rain. Anyone else think June is often worse than May weather wise? I shouldn’t complain as the garden needs the rain and after tomorrow I won’t care for a few days…. Never mind. I am just cooking chicken and a selection of salads. It’s easy and I can’t compete with my brother in law who is a Master Chef. So I won’t try

Morning all, alternately sunny bits and drizzle this morning so not sure it will be gardening weather later.

That's a very pretty little bag @Obelix-Vendée , I like the embroidery on it.

Chicken and salad sounds just the job @Debs64, I'm all for easy cooking.

Glad you enjoyed the croquet @Goldenlily26, despite the high winds.

Enjoy your gardening meeting @Busy-Lizzie. We're hopefully having coffee and cake later this morning as there is a new car-boot sale down in the village which we thought we might have a wander around. I'm really pleased OH has said he'll go with me as he can then carry home anything I buy!

              Have a good day folks.

                A late good morning,

It’s another blustery and coolish day, though not as blustery as yesterday. I hope the showers hold off as I’ve also got some washing on the line.

Chicken and salads sound good to me @Debs64, and I would hazard a guess that your BiL will enjoy something like that very much.

It’s been our weekly coffee morning natter group today - we still hold it on BH Mondays as otherwise it can be a long day for some of the participants who are widowed. They look forward to coming. OH and I are going out for lunch to a local GC, it will save me pondering what to cook tonight, instead we’ll make do with a sandwich.

Glad to hear your toe feels much better @Butterfly6.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

                  It's a sad day.
We made the decision last night, that it would be kind to Maisie to have her PTS. I really hope B doesn't change his mind. It really is time. A loyal companion for 16+ years.
We will ring the vet tomorrow.

That’s sad to hear @Penny_Forthem. This must be very difficult for you both. A final act of kindness we can do for our pets shows a selfless love and respect for these wonderful beings.

@Penny_Forthem i won’t go into details but my niece was dog sitting for a friend this week and last night the dog passed away. It wasn’t an easy passing it was extremely distressing. Really the poor creature deserved a more peaceful ending and it’s a pity the owners were unable to make the decision to have her PTS by a vet. You are doing the right thing.

@Penny_Forthem we pet owners have been through this so many times through our lives and it is never easy but as @AuntyRach put it so well saying it is the final act of kindness - even if it is probably the hardest thing we ever have to do. My thoughts are with you and Maisie.

Thank you all for your kind and understanding thoughts. She's had a chicken dinner!
I made myself a target of driving half way to the van and, if I felt I could manage it, to go there. Went the long way round, as fewer gear changes!
I managed it, van is fine, plants dead, feeling of satisfaction, though.
                              Must build on it.
Actually think I have accomplished a lot recently.
But not even been to the greenhouse today!

So sorry to hear that @Penny_Forthem but I think you've made the best decision in the circumstances. It's never easy.
