Its rained here enough now make it stop :th scifD36:

I haven't been to busy in the garden recently but for general watering / weeding etc . I did get my path done looks so much better now than it did 18 month ago . Looked a right mess before I rebuilt the wall the winter before .

I had these 2 terrorising the garden a couple of weeks ago, they were here the entire day scoffed all bird food slept on my tulips and strutting about like they own the place

That's a lovely wall Perki, very well built.

Can't help about the peacocks though, do you know where they came from?

The peacocks live on a farm on the hill opposite but are classed as semi wild according to the person that feeds them :noidea:, they were 6+ roaming around the estate but I haven't seen them for a bit now .

It is going to be lovely and warm today and after planting all of my annuals out, I have over 400 small pots to refill with fresh potting soil. I shall be baking the soil first as the soil gnat issue drives me nuts when I'm starting my seedlings indoors in the winter. I have a wood burning oven outside and will place pans of soil in it until they get to 150f 55c which will kill all eggs, larvae or any adults even thinking about laying new eggs. :paladin:

And I will try to remember to take a pic of a small plant that I bought from a lady's yard sale and which she said was black eyed susan and I believe she put the wrong thing in the boot because I am darned sure it is not. I will be asking for any help to i.d. it later. If I remember.. :rolleyespink:

I'm also going to work on an upgraded gutter feed to the rain barrels so as not to miss collecting a drop of water from the greenhouses.

I love love love tinkering so it will be a perfect day :)

Last year i dismantled an old unsightly 8x10 structure which had once been a greenhouse but left the lower sides in place to make some sort of bedding area.

Over the weekend i finally finished the job off and now have an ‘n’ shaped bed which i have initially filled with dahlias . I needed to improve the soil considerably but already those young dahlia shoots are vigorously growing sturdier even over the past 48 hours and are enjoying the steady rain thats fallen in the last 24 hours.

it doesnt look pretty at the moment ( so no photo) as i have now got a lot of exposed soil and the local cat population would have visited on masse and showered the beds with their uniquely perfumed presents so i have created a random lattice of garden canes to keep them off. I aim to plant or sow some annuals in the coming weeks and hopefully this may prove to be a colourful bed with some cut flowers for the house too.

Theres still some fine tuning required but hopefully this will be a good use of what was previously an eyesore and not suitable for restoring to what would originally have been a good greenhouse.

Sounds like a job well done there, @Robert Bowen. :blue thumb:

Me, I am doing nothing in the garden as the weather is pretending it is November currently. Have had the lights on all day as it is so dark and the winds are 40-50 mph at the moment. The only slight problem is, it not actually being November, the leaves are not ready to detach themselves and so are being shredded in situ.

Thank you @ViewAhead very kind. The weather kept me in too but i tidied up my potting shed while the rain pattered down so now i will be able to find everything if i can remember where i put it all.

Rain at last but still not enough.
Sorted through the last of the stored apples. Not bad as it is near the end of May. OK they are wrinkled but still edible.

Not a lot, it's been wet and windy, a reasonable amount of rain and too much wind.
Oaks have had some foliage blown off and a 12 ft tall echium is now 12 ft long and flat on the ground.
