    Evening everyone.

I hope you are all feeling ok after what’s been a hard week for many of you. All round to @Penny_Forthem ’s caravan for the weekend? We could eat, drink and make merry?

Had a few hours in the garden but it looks a bit gloomy now so washing in, tools away and dinner on (chicken schnitzel, sweet potato wedges and salad).

Good evening everyone. Lunch today was enjoyable and catching up on all the banter was nice too. It actually stayed dry which was a bonus. The pub was in the middle of farmland and the date over the door read 1813. Bestie and I have to pick the venue next time. I'm up for it @AuntyRach - not so sure about @Penny_Forthem though! @Busy-Lizzie your bouquet of roses is so beautiful. Thank you for 'sharing' it with us. Such a pity we couldn't get the scent! Glad you are feeling a bit happier. Me too.

Enjoy your dog sitting @Ergates - and the mooching. @Liriodendron, hope you have your packing list sorted. I am going to sign out now and I'll see you all around sometime tomorrow.

I've had a load of family WhatsApps. My son and his wife had their house burgled while they were at work and their 3 daughters were at school. Another house was burgled too. Their house is a mess but not much was taken as they don't have much in the way of jewellery and cash in the house. But a gold fob watch on a gold chain that my Dad gave my son, a family heirloom, was taken. The Police said the thieves were looking for cash and jewellery.

What a horrible thing to happen, @Busy-Lizzie ! Very distressing for the whole family. Such a shame the burglars took something of sentimental value too; hope they manage to sleep ok tonight. And hopefully those responsible will be caught quickly.

Good morning everyone. Oh @Busy-Lizzie that is such awful news and just after you were dealing with the funeral. I am so sorry that your family are going to have to deal with the consequences of that. The worst thing is the loss of something so precious to the family. I've been burgled once and the thing I was upset about the most was the gold charm - shaped somewhat like the Blue Peter ship - that my Mum and Dad got me when I graduated, which was attached to my charm bracelet. Nothing can replace those treasured items.

                    Good morning to you all!

Still, overcast and humid this morning but we are off for a 10km bike ride (on the flat) with Fizz.
Sadness for the burglary @Busy-Lizzie which is akin to a rape. A violation of privacy. Every little noise now will be heard.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

                      Good morning all.

Thank you @Liriodendron, @Ladybird4 and @Tui34. I hope my son and DIL managed to get some sleep last night.

Tomorrow there is a celebration in our C of E Chaplaincy in France. It is the 200th anniversary and the new chaplain will be inaugurated by the Bishop of Europe. I will be one of several making nibbles for the drinks before lunch. I'll make them today at home. We will be taking our friend who lost her husband and another couple of friends. I think about 300 people are expected.

Having swept through and taken a coffee break, I forced myself to begin potting on the tomatoes. Managed 3, then with my back screaming Stop, I gave up. I discovered to my horror, I had potted them up in neat farm yard manure. What a waste of time, money and manure. Goodness knows how it is going to affect the plants. I cannot face undoing what I have done so I am going to wait and see if the plants survive. They will probably push through the roof of the greenhouse and have no fruit.

Is it composted manure @Goldenlily26? If so they may well be fine. Will be like supercharged compost. I potted mine up into neat organic fertiliser one year, I was full of a cold and (obviously) feeling fuzzy at the time. I realised about three or four days later and did repot them, they were fine.

It will be a good experiment @Goldenlily26. Should be OK if the manure is rotted. My Mum used to plant courgettes and pumpkins on a compost heap with manure added to it.

The farm yard manure is something I bought from my local GC, seems very well rotted, very fluffy, which is why I didn't notice the difference and no smell.
I still have some tomatoes left to pot on so it will be interesting to see what difference, if any, there is between the plants. I am usually very stingy with the farmyard manure as it is possible to overfeed young plants.
                                Isn't life exciting!
