I've has a session in the greenhouse, tying up the tomatoes and taking out the nodal shoots. I have flowers now on quite a few plants. Checking the other plants still in the greenhouse and many of those will be moving out soon. It has become very overcast here

Cream crackered now after a full day in the garden, treating the teak table, watering seedlings, treasures and pots in the veg plot and more planting in the new bed. It is seriously hard work digging out stones from planting holes. 3 more wheelbarrow loads today.

Showered and clean now but aching a bit. Dinner is in the oven - Chinese baked chicken thighs with roast sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli. Loganberries from the garden for dessert.

Glad your fracture has healed well @Penny_Forthem. Hope you've arrived safely @Liriodendron.

Enjoy your outing @Ladybird4. In 1991 OH moved to Belgium ahead of me so was on his own for dinner. He asked some Indians on the SWIFT team where to go for the nearest decent curry and they said Dover. It's pretty much the same here in France so a good job I can cook a passable curry myself.

Never had lobster sandwiches @redstar. Please post a pic if you can.
Can't imagine them with bread, somehow.
Used to catch them and cook them fresh when I was a kid. We'd fish for mackerel, bass etc.
To me, lobster is perfection by itself.

That sounds scrumptious @redstar. I think we had some over in Oz when we stayed in Melbourne.

I've spent the day finishing cutting down the big clematis on the terrace which was hard work so I can sympathise with Obelisk. I've decided to use a strong weedkiller tomorrow to kill the stump as I suspect the roots might be lifting the nearby paving, it's getting to be rather a trip hazard which is the last thing I need. Filled 2 Green Bins, 3 big plastic trugs and shoved the remainder in the compost bin - it was a very large clematis!

That's great news @Penny_Forthem, bet you're relieved. How's the driving going?

Hope @Liriodendron has arrived safely in Finland.

Thanks everyone, we're safely installed in our town centre Holiday Inn (other hotels are available... but are more expensive!), trying to adjust to the 2 hour time difference. Hope I haven't woken anyone...

Good morning @Liriodendron and all. You didn't wake me up  I had an amazing curry last night and one I have never had before. It was a chef special so suspect it is not a traditional dish. I also think they used a bit of poetic licence in the name of the dish too - Steak Banzai. It consisted of sirloin steak barbecued in a tandoor with mushrooms, spices and herbs - medium to hot served with Bengal rice cooked with green chillies. It was delicious.
I love lobster but like you @Penny_Forthem I have reservations about it in bread. Goodness me @Obelix-Vendée, I felt tired just reading all your accomplishments yesterday!

                                Good morning all.

We rarely have lobster, it's so expensive and not often available in Dordogne. I don't like hot curries, mild ones are OK. I'm glad you enjoyed your curry @Ladybird4.

I hope you have a great day in Finland, @Liriodendron.

Yesterday I planted out my sweetcorn and purple sprouting broccoli. I had spent some time over the end of the veg garden where the broccoli now is. It's heavy clay. I've worked in 3 sacks of compost and a wheelbarrow load of wood ash. I grew potatoes there last year but they didn't do very well.

Today I'll deadhead all the roses, loads to do. It's going to be a hot day, 30C.
