    Good day all

We noticed the following two roses in a garden centre today.

From what I can tell all of the plant details are the same but the rose heads seem to appear very different in shape and not just an ‘it hasn’t opened fully yet’ …

Why is this? I’ve attached corresponding pictures of the rose flowers and the pots (matching numbers) and would really like to hear people’s thoughts on this.

    confused!!

    thanks!

''it hasn't fully opened yet'' is actually spot on there.. that is the case.

I know this rose as 'Pacific Blue', which is an alternative name for 'Hopes and Dreams'..
My plant has richer tones as it's grown in a garden setting with better conditions..

@Mrs Hillard that’s really interesting as we thought the shape was different and the colour but all of this is for the reasons you mention. Not fully open, different growing conditions. We bought the more fuller flowered one (pictures no.1) of the two with the lovely pale colour and want to keep it looking like that. Any suggestions on how we do that would be great.

Colour in roses is dependent on a number of factors including the weather. I would find the pale colour in your photos to be a bit washed out for this rose. You'll just have to see if you like it, over the course of time.
