I need to move some blocks up the steps. It's just me, I can slide them onto the wooden dolly to shift them to the bottom of the steps, but any ideas for raising them?
Am thinking of perhaps making a wooden frame hoist. They are each about 100kgs

    Hmm, that's quite a problem @ChrisIB.

Would it be possible to upend one at a time and 'walk' it up each step or are they far too heavy for that?

If you have a dolly, make a ramp and move one at a time?

Lay a couple of planks on the steps and pull (slide) the blocks up on a tarpaulin or similar.

Be warned, if you make a ramp, make it very shallow! I use one to get my barrow full of manure up some steps and have to take a run at it! I would suggest following @lizzie27 suggestion instead - dolly a block to bottom step, then tip end over end up the steps. Though I would put plenty of cardboard around to protect edges if a block should slip
Btw that slider looks good! Many years ago we moved huge rocks into our garden on an old skateboard - same principle

            All I'll say is - Good luck @ChrisIB !
I'd agree though- make any ramp [if you do that] as long and shallow as you can.
I thnk I'd go for the up on end method that @lizzie27 describes, but take your time.

A couple of big strong friends? Maybe bribe them with beer and pizza afterwards.

Ramp. Drop a rope over bottom end of block, then pull up the ramp with the two ends of the rope.

These weigh about 2cwt each, I forsee squashed fingers.
Not much help I know but it does sound like a two man job.

I am with Jenny on this one. Hire a workforce to come in before you do any damage to yourself and have to call in an ambulance.

This works. I used it to lift a 100Kg steel beam, 8 feet into the garage ceiling.

Yes, had a re-think and called a landscaper - one for the pros I think!
I dislocated my arm a few years ago cutting down a tree, the local hospital had a job putting back in the socket, that level of pain does wonders for your caution.

Ouch, that does sound very painful indeed.
