@Michael Hewett I read that hibiscus Mahogany splendor is hardy to zone 8-9, so where you are, it may cope outside.

Thanks @CarolineL It's in a pot for now, I don't think there's room in the ground for it.

I'm positively surprised so far, everything arrived quickly, well labelled (once I learnt to decipher the code), free plant labels (my reputation must have reached them ) and some freebies too.

If the germination is good, Premierseedsdirect has a serious competitor. :)

Toddled off to Hill House and picked up two salvias that I have lost in past few years, picked up Buddleja salvifolia (mine died the last year), also S guaranitica"Purple Majesty", an unlabelled fern, an unlabelled agapanthus, a cactus and a small dierama all hopped into my trolley as I wandered round.

I wanted to buy some more oxygenating plants for my small container pond, when I noticed an interesting floating plant. No name was mentioned, just that it cost £2.99 and I decided to get it. It's the one at the front:

                  20250705_170944.jpg

I looked it up after getting home, and apparently it is a water lettuce. It's super tender, so I probably wouldn't have gotten it had I known. Or had I read this information below from RHS...

I do like it though and we have never had issues with mosquitos.

The flowers are supposed to be impressive! And you can stick it in a bucket of water in the garage or somewhere over winter

Thanks @CarolineL! I was thinking of something similar (to put it in a food container and place it by the kitchen window).

I like it a lot ... but I can see why the GC thought it was more likely to sell without supplying the info you found, @CostasK.

I like it too, and despite planning to put it in a food container, I'm sure you're not going to eat it @CostasK, it will be fine .

I bought this yesterday, Geranium Kelly Anne, a bit like a pink version of Rozanne with similar mottled foliage but a more compact habit. The label claims a very long flowering period from late spring to the first frosts.
