I've just been out deadheading salvia and erysimum. Don't want to wash my hands now because they smell beautifully sagey. The green bin is a fragrant delight too!

I have Kashmir White @ViewAhead and that’s reluctant to flower for me. I get the odd scattering at best

@ViewAhead These plants suffering from stage fright , are they one off plants or have you got several of the same variety which are refusing to play their part.
So far today i have dismantled a reclining sofa ( @fairygirl will like that) next will be moving breeze blocks and paving slabs . Today was supposed to be cooler and showery , i can see grey clouds towards Wales but i think Wales might be hanging onto them !

Wales is hanging onto them @Robert Bowen , hoping they release some rain soon. Proper rain of course!

@Bluejayway Amen to that , so far sun light clouds and wind today. Think we will miss out again and the heatwave is back on Tuesday.

@Butterfly6, I'm relieved to hear your Geranium Kashmir is also uncooperative and I am not alone. As a plant group, they are generally easy and I have loads of others doing well (Azure Rush, Rozanne, Magnificum, Hexham White). It is just the Kashmir that is not thriving. I've tried it in the ground, in a raised bed, in a pot. I've tried varying the sun and shade, feeding and not feeding, dividing. It seems happy enough, just no flowers.

@Robert Bowen, they are one offs, except the Geranium Kashmir, where I have one in the ground with more sun and one in a raised bed with more shade.

                Checking the water butts.

My friend in Navarra wrote that they had thunderstorm over night and 21 l rain. She is watching tennis and wondering if it rains in London, if we also have rain. Yes, I wrote, the water butts collected 1 litre a 1.5 sqm today.
It’s getting really serious now. From Wednesday on heat and sunshine again.

Really windy here again ... and no rain. A killer combination for plants. I think it is the windiest summer I've known down here. A large, leaf-laden limb snapped off my Robinia. That sometimes happens in an October storm, but never in July before.

Yeh- but what have you made out of it @Robert Bowen ?
Nothing done yesterday due to weather, and it was wet today [mostly smirry and light] but less windy, until about 1pm, so I had my walk this morning and I've done a couple of minor things after lunch - pricking out wallflowers seedlings and moving/adjusting a couple of bits and pieces. I'll go back out after my cuppa and do a couple of other things...maybe.
Quite a few branches down round here, but strong winds are fairly common at this time of year here, so we don't always take much notice. Couple of branches on one of the Scots pines across the road are looking a bit iffy.
I used to have G. Kashmir Purple, and K. White in a previous garden. I don't remember them being tricky. Maybe they prefer consistent dampness though? Clay soil here so maybe that suits them better too. Dunno.

Yesterday I watched my garden getting battered by the strong winds and rain all day . I've been in the garden this afternoon tidying up, removing damaged blooms ( and few spent ones). It's not as bad as I thought it would be, Cornflowers and Cosmos have come off the worst.

Spent a few minutes peering into mini pond. Considering getting another half whiskey barrel pot and setting up another pond . I could link the two with a bridge or place in another part of the garden.

Windy here in Norfolk too, tiny bit of rain in the night. We need a good downpour.

Since we came back to Norfolk I've pruned, dead headed, weeded, tied up, planted a pink Veronica and 6 crimson pelargoniums and watered. Wherever I water the moles make a mess. OH has rung the mole man a few times but no answer.

I have pruned and thinned out the two Philadelphus and cut back the choisya. I wish the garden bin was emptied weekly.

I have made a start on the second standard Acer. I'm tempted to leave the very top to see if I can create a new top tier, later in the year when it has grown a bit more.

I've had beautifully black clouds overhead all day, and every time I've gone outside they're released a few drops but that's all. We had a little bit overnight last night, but forecast is still looking bleak.
At least I've felt able to water during the day today, without it all going to waste in evaporation.
