Good afternoon everyone. Super rainy day here but absolutely nothing compared to what Wimbledon suffered. At one stage the thunder on TV ws so loud I thought it was here! It has been very windy here as well so I'll check once its dry enough to venture forth to make sure all the pots are OK.
I hope that you got to your village fair @Busy-Lizzie. They are such a wonderful tradition. I can imagine that heavy rain on a caravan roof sounds like elephants doing a pas de deux @Penny_Forthem.

Went out last thing to water the pots, and there was the tiniest hint of drizzle in the air. Didn’t last, everything still bone dry this morning. After yesterday’s lethargy, we headed out for breakfast and a walk. Had to briefly put on my raincoat for two minutes of light drizzle, but still no rain. OH watched the F1, and it was horrendous there, so wet. I wonder if the Red Arrows fly past was cancelled? They have been overnighting at Exeter Airport, after an airshow in Wales. I often hear them as they take off, or circle to land, sometimes see them through the trees.
I’ve at least got some boring jobs done today, bed changing and some laundry. Also collected a couple of John Lewis bargains I’d ordered, as we passed Waitrose.
I do have a few summer dresses, which I have been making an effort to wear during the hot spell. I tend to save things for ‘best’ but when ‘best’ arrives, either they no longer fit me, or they just don’t look right, so I’ve dragged them out of the wardrobe for an outing. I wear them with very comfortable white trainers, all our outings seem to involve walks, and none of my sandals are sturdy enough for that.
I haven’t sent all my high heels to the charity shop. I’ve kept a couple of favourite pairs just to look at! Bought a great pair of ‘dressy’ shoes last year which are comfortable, and pretty enough.

Those shoes do look pretty @Ergates - and comfortable too. I have never been able to wear shoes with heels higher than 2cm - I suffer oxygen deficit!

Nice shoes @Ergates. I could dance in those with the appropriate soles.

I wear my frocks with sandals, flip flops, tennis shoes or barefoot depending on what I'm doing and if I'm going out anywhere.

We've had about 8mm of rain which is not a lot given how dry it's been but it fell vertically so all the pots and beds got some. No need to water this evening but more scorchio coming up for the next 10 days so only a brief reprieve.

There's a chap in the garden club who has managed to use a railway carriage as atree house. No idea how he got it up there but, @Penny_Forthem and @Ladybird4 his wife refuses to join him when he sleeps up ther as it's too noisy with all the walnuts falling and birds tapping and even, sometimes, rain.

It’s funny how we get out of wearing high heels, isn’t it? I could never wear very high heels, but highish ones. Now, I feel more comfortable in lower heels, especially as my feet have a tendency to swell up a bit - an aspect of getting older I don’t like :sad::biggrin:. Hey ho, such is life.

Nice shoes @Ergates. They look comfy but dressy, too.

Hello everyone. Another week begins. I wonder what is in store for us all today. Its looking a bit overcast here at the moment. Quizzing tonight so do not want any heavy rain later on please tap controller. @Obelix-Vendée where my sis and BIL's van is in La Londe, we are often awakened by the eucalyptus cones pinging on the roof. My brothers told me stories about when they were much younger (and more reprobate!), they used to go away on caravan holidays with their mates and they would throw slices of bread onto each others caravan roofs in the night so that the seagulls tramping all over would be a rude awakening in the morning.

Good morning. It is cool and cloudy and not likely to get above 22C today so I can do some garden pottering. First I need a second cup of coffee.

This is the old carriage @Ladybird4

Were I half my age, I'd love that tree 'house' @Obelix-Vendée but imagine wanting a night time loo visit...
Nope, I'm happy with our ensuite caravan!
Got the 'kids' coming tonight and I have a lasagne to put together, with a green salad.
                      Usual Monday chores first, though.

                        Good morning all.

I don't like heights so tree houses aren't for me!

It rained yesterday, then stopped after lunch so we went to the village fair and the sun came out. We had a 99 ice cream each, had a go at a couple of games and met some friends. Then in the early evening there was a thunderstorm and lots of lovely rain that filled the waterbutts.

We are going shopping, SM. A couple of friends are coming for supper tomorrow, need a few things.

                          Good morning to you all!!

Ahhh! We had a smidgen of rain yesterday evening - just to clear the air and this morning it was 20°C when Fizz and I stepped out. Hooray!! I did a bit of weeding yesterday - well, feeling it this morning - all that sitting around has done nothing for my abdos!! I will go and do a bit more now before it gets too hot. 30°C expected this afternoon. Hot maybe, but better than the high thirties which we have been having.

High heels? Love them! Wore them all through my youth - clickety clack - platforms in the 70s. Put them on for weddings and special occasions - then Covid - I'm not sure if my feet have swollen @Blue arbour - but they seem to have expanded sideways and my third toe won't sit down!! So it's sandals in the summer and dress ankle boots in the winter....for going out.

Blowing a hooley here but sunny and chilly.

I managed to get down the garden yesterday, runner beans look good, well up the canes. I removed some side shoots from the tomatoes and that was my lot.

My neighbour has just called in and kindly offered to organise an app.with my chiropodist for me. I have tried to contact a home visit service but none are interested in new clients, they are all fully booked. She has been unwell herself, has two teenagers, horses, cats, chickens and dog so I do not like to bother her too much. I have stopped taking the codeine medication and the nausea has cleared, thank goodness.
