Good morning everyone, volunteer day yesterday, it turned very humid by lunchtime and we actually got rain. :)
On the flip side, nowhere near enough, the second waterbut isn't anywhere near full. Also I went out to the front to check something and the front lawn was covered in snails
We are forecast more rain at the weekend fingers crossed.

      Good morning all.

We are forecast thunderstorms at the weekend. The waterbutts were filled on Tuesday, the day we were watered at the Open air theatre. Today will be quite warm, 28C. I'm glad it will rain just as we leave for France.

@Ladybird4 OH will have his eye op in Norwich as he officially lives in the UK and it will be NHS.

A friend is coming for coffee this morning and we are going to dinner tonight with friends down the road.

It doesn’t seem a moment since you were arriving in Norfolk @Busy-Lizzie, safe journey back to France.

Lots of rain in the forecast here too @Allotment Boy but lately it all seems to disappear the nearer we get. However, the school holidays are just about to start so maybe this lot will arrive.

Not sure what I am doing this morning, looking for some motivation or my procrastination off button :noidea: Were picking the granddaughter’s up at lunchtime as school finishes early for the holidays so the afternoon timetable has already being pre-ordered baking, crafting and a picnic in the garden

I saw a Dr. yesterday and had my blood pressure tablets changed to a lower dose as my BP is so low. I have to go back in 6 weeks time for a check.
The Xray results may be in today, I will have to phone to find out.

Yesterday morning was sunny and looking bright first thing so I put a line of washing out which was mizzled on when it was almost dry. It mizzled for the rest of the evening. This morning is dry and almost sunny. I have made a late start, am hoping to get to the greenhouse to water, also the conservatory.
What a night for the football. Well done girls. What an exciting penalty shoot out.
I hope you all continue enjoying your trips, outings and adventures while the weather is fair.
It looks as if some of us are going to have rather more rain than we want tonight. I hope no one is affected by the predicted flash floods.

Heavy mizzle has driven me inside so I'm having an early elevenses. I did manage to completely fill the larger of my two green bins though so I feel as if I have made some inroads. Thanks for the explanation about your OH's eye op @Busy-Lizzie. Will he wait until you return to Norfolk on your next visit or would he fly home if he got an appointment? I can imagine it could get a bit difficult trying to juggle everything. Hope you get your results today @Goldenlily26 and that the news is good. I will be watering in my GH when I've finished my elevenses.

Well, our friends left at about 10am but were soon back again to collect their car fridge which had been plugged in in the annex. OH and I have done our weekly shop - SM heaving with holidaymakers and children and the SM has remodelled its fresh fish and butchery counters and moved all the cheese and packaged fish displays. Perfect timing!

Cooler today and we had an unscheduled shower at around 9am and another with huge raindrops that bounced off the car roof and bonnet on the way to the SM. No more due till Sat night and Sun am and they're still promising 2cms. OH is playing golf on Sunday so maybe that'll provoke extra rain.

The next village along is organising a vide grenier (car boot ish) tomorrow with moules frites to entice people along. Might go to that but otherwise nothing planned other than flopping.

That eyelid sounds painful @Busy-Lizzie so I hope they can get it done soon, as well as the cataract. Your trip to Bath sounds fun @AuntyRach - never come across one of those hunts.

Enjoy your TGIF everyone, whatever you're doing or avoiding.

Hello all, hot and very humid this morning as it was all night so I didn't sleep well. OH got back from his dinner do well after midnight, enjoyed his 'do' but said the traffic both ways on the motorway was awful. I woke up with a coughing fit at 3 am, got up for a cuppa and the weather forecaster thingy was showing the indoor temp at 24c! No wonder I couldn't sleep.

We've been for our usual walk and as Friday is our weekly cake treat, I've already enjoyed half of an apple and sultana Danish - absolute bliss. I'm saving the other half for lunch. I was very pleased to find I'd lost the extra weight I'd put on in the hotel whilst we were away last weekend, although that was before I ate the Danish!

The builders have texted to say they are now coming next Monday so hope they stick to that. Not ideal as I have two medical appointments that day, one am and one pm which is a nuisance.
We were appalled to note that there are gas pipe installations scheduled to start that Monday at the roundabout - for 11 weeks! There's going to be absolute chaos as there's no easy alternative routes - since the local council thought fit to install a LTN scheme on the only other suitable alternative route.

Good luck with OH's eye ops @Busy-Lizzie although I doubt very much whether they will be any time soon, my sister's partner waited months for his to be done at Leicester.

Glad you're enjoying the trip to Bath @AuntyRach. The activity puzzle books sound fun, if rather tiring. We have a similar activity in the car club, using cars of course with a choice of four villages to be visited as you choose and puzzles to solve in each one. Takes up most of the day. Not many people did this year's one as it was just far too hot - no aircon in 1930's old cars!

here is something funny. I love a certain powder blush color. Online at the company that makes it they continue to be out of stock. For some reason I checked Amazon, and there it was, same price also. Ordered it, got it in 24 hours. Shipping cost is free to me as I had a few things hanging in the cart waiting.

BTW, I found out more about Amazon. Have you ever wondered how they can get so many things, possible warehouse everywhere in the world? Found out they partner with already established stores. So Amazon has a list of items from all stores they partner with, and just go to that store and get the item. Was shopping at a grocery store, heard over the loud speaker,
" WILL the representative from Amazon please come to the front desk" Then later I asked someone, sure enough. So that is how they do it.

So here is crazy me, Amazon has a tracking map, you can watch the little truck on line move about the streets on the way to your house. Neat. its good at night so i can turn on the lights for the truck. But I do have a life, LOL.

Well, it actually rained on and off all day yesterday, some of it quite heavy. The garden is looking really happy! Managed to get out today for lunch and a walk with the dog, sunny now and quite humid.
Sounds like you are having a great time in Bath, @AuntyRach, the ‘adventure hunt’ must be good fun. When we lived just outside Bath (20 -40 years ago) every autumn, there would be guided walks specifically for local residents. Instead of the major tourist highlights, the guides would show us some of the easily overlooked but very interesting details, such as the old fire insurance signs, and even manhole covers with a history of their own. We took part in quite a few of these walks during our years there, and learnt lots of fascinating facts about the city.
@Penny_Forthem, I can’t believe that your poor husband has had yet another appointment cancelled with no notice or explanation. Perhaps the practice has had some staff off through illness (or more likely summer holidays) but I would have expected the surgery to have contacted him to double check that he doesn’t need to be seen urgently. Unfortunately, we Brits are not known for making a fuss, even when justified, with the result that some services feel they can get away with unacceptable delays.

                                Evening folks.

The Bath adventure hunts was great. We had to find plaques on walls, pub signs, ornate carvings above houses etc and then the book asked us to work out puzzles and clues from the letters or symbols etc. We saw a few other people with the book too! Home now (shattered). Unfortunately I have work tomorrow.

I hope everyone is doing ok - sounds like mixed weather fortunes across the U.K. this weekend.
