Thanks, all. They have identified the problem and though it was very scary, not as bad as first feared. He hopes to be released later. I'm on standby to collect him.

 

That’s reassuring to hear @Penny_Forthem . When he gets back home to his own things and his own bed, I’m sure it will make a difference for him and you too. Easy, quiet night for you both to recover from the shock/surprise of this today.

Just collected him, a bit battered, but glad to be home. He has a plan of action now (a good night's sleep for us both first) and is off the blood thinners for a while.

I had a lovely catch up with my old schoolfriend, indeed we were giggling away like little schoolgirls most of the time. We both wore long dresses but she towers over me at 5ft.9" - an unlikely friendship between us as I am, or was, only just over 5ft tall. It bothered her rather than me though. We can't believe we're both going to be 80 next year!

I stopped off at a GC on the way home as I remembered they had a sale on and bagged a pale green largish metal lantern and matching green candle for half price. Indeed they cost me nothing as I used some vouchers I had. I want to 'pretty up' my new sitting out area when the builders have finished rebuilding the terrace walls.

 

You must be very relieved @Penny_Forthem. You will both be ready for a good nights sleep.

It’s been mostly fine today, just a brief shower an hour or so ago. We had a run out today and went to Bolsover Castle which is only a 45 minute drive away. Had lunch out, too, so no cooking tonight, just a light snack of cheese and biscuits.

First of all I must say how shocked I was to read your news @Penny_Forthem and I am glad that when I got to the second page of catching up on all the news it was a bit more positive. You must have been very worried. I hope you both get a good night's sleep. I don't suppose you got to your van to close the roof light.

I could not agree with you more @Obelix-Vendée. Why he didn't do as advised I have no idea - especially as he did so well last week. I didn't like any of the outfits I have to say.
Well I told you I might be knitting today and I have finished the baby jumper in Burnley colours apart from looking in my button stash for two little buttons for the shoulder.

On my laptop the blue colour is not quite true to reality. It is a darker sky blue than how it appears

 

@lizzie27 I am glad to read about your happy meet up. I remember meeting up with a college friend a few years back. We hadn't seen each other for over 30 years though we do keep in touch at C*******s time and when we got together it was like we had never been apart. It was quite joyous.

 

I am signing out for tonight you lovely lot. Food Bank duties tomorrow so I'll be picking up my Bestie at 09:00. See most of you in the morning and the later arrivals when I get home.
