Disgusting. You buy Goldfish pellets for Monkey Cups and other suitable plants and crushed flakes for sprinkling on sundews and placing in Venus fly traps. Both bought in air tight containers with very little smell.

 

I know; I can't help it, it was how I was dragged up.
Mine have to forage for themselves, don't seem to do to badly on it.

 

My Butterwort has caught a few flies and it is in the conservatory, The Sarracenias stay outside all year and flower in the spring thriving in a cold. winter.

 

Managed at last to convert my mini greenhouse in a plant house for my carniverous plants and have the Monkey Cups under cover in the house.

I have transplanted one of my monkey cups into a large jar with the monkey cups cascading over the sides. My problem is now where to place it. All available window spaces are taken up with plants which leaves the shelving unit against the wall near the French windows which has a space but not very much light.
Can anyone recommend a self charging or battery operated small growing lamp as the closest power point is full of plugs.

 

@waterbut , I have never come across a battery/ rechargeable grow light, but perhaps you could get just a regular rechargeable lamp and use those bulbs specially designed for plants?

Just an example from Amazon, this one takes standard E27 bulbs.

My solution was a bit more drastic, I bought a house with a lot more South facing windowsill space The obvious outcome is that now I buy plants willy nilly because "I have the space"

Hi Selleri thanks for reply. My Carniverous plants are pictured above my article. I was a bit carried away with the photos.

 

It may seem extreme (though not as extreme as @Selleri 's solution!) but is it worth getting an electrician in and adding more power points? They always come in handy eg for heat mats for propagation.

 

I somehow failed to see those were yours. What a superb collection you have!
