HiJust wondering where you buy your plant seedsfrom ? I used Just Seeds before but the last two orders they sent the wrong seed. I see farmer Gracy has mixed reviews also. I know everyone has their favorite but if one name sticks out I tend to try them. I want to buy some Platycodon Mixed (balloon Flower) seeds to grow in pots next year. Flower.jpg I posted a while ago of a seed that was mixed in with verbena seeds but could not get a inentifaction as the first photo had no flowers. It is now flowering and to be honest it looks very nice. It was suggested it may be a weed before it flowered but never had a weed like this in my garden. Any ideas now it has flowers. Thank you

A Rudbeckia of some sort ? @Silver surfer is the "go to" member for ID's.
As far as reliable seed suppliers it is becoming difficult to choose as so many previously good ones are sending out mis labelled seeds and plants in the last couple of years.

I've noticed one or two online seed suppliers seem to ask or are prepared to take seed from the public.
IMO, if you dont want the odd interesting thing cropping up you just use the big seed suppliers.
I only use the smaller one man business's if they have something special that I want, for bog standard stuff I'd stick with the big ones.

Your plant could be an Argyranthemum, or yellow Marguerite Daisy.

I used to like Suttons Seeds, now I prefer Kings Seeds.

@trogre - re the platycodon, B and M bargains currently have all 3 colours, £2 for a good sized plant. Might be better than seed to get something big enough for next year. As for flower seeds, I use premier direct for basics, plant world for more different stuff.

I use Chilterns, Premier, Kings Seeds, Simply Seeds, Marshalls, Suttons and a few others, depending on what I'm looking for and what they have available @trogre . MoreVeg is a small company and is very good - small packets, and that can be really good if you want to try something new. Simply Seeds do smaller packets too. I occasionally get the odd 'interloper' but it's not usually a massive problem. I expect it's pretty difficult to ensure nothing different will get into stock - weather plays a big part in that, mainly wind!
That seems very odd @pete, re using public's seeds?

The foliage looks like a chrysanthemum/marguerite of some kind, but the flower doesn't look right for those. Not something I ever grow though.

For seeds Kings, Marshalls, Chiltern, Suttons, Real Seeds, Nicky's Nursery, Franchi mainly for veg.
Special Plants, Jungle Seeds, Chiltern, Nicky's Nursery, Plant World Seeds for the interesting stuff.
For veg and bedding plants most suppliers are ok and stuff comes up as per label, maybe with the odd sport/interloper.
For the interesting stuff then results are more variable in terms of germination, but generally, if anything, comes up it matches the label.
Generally the fresher the seed the better the germination.

When I could buy seeds online from the UK I'd go for Chiltern - excellent descriptions and good quality, Plant World and Premium seeds. I'd also get seeds from the RHS seed share scheme.

These days I find a good selection at Graines Baumaux, La Boite à Graines and I'm currently looking at Boutique Végétale for some cardamom seeds.
