Nice one @Robert Bowen - some basic protection for you to get them growing nicely. I love recycling stuff, and that's a great way of re using that old greenhouse. :blue thumb:
If I had something that used apps @Plantminded, I could see that being the case, but....
Just my clumsy old hands
Yesterday ended up quite dry for the bulk of the day, once the rain went off late morning, and was even sunny for a few hours, so I got more done than I expected. I potted up some little Hebe cuttings - no idea where I'll eventually put them, but that's how it is! Got some makeshift mortar put on the toadstool, because I just sifted the little bit of concrete mix I had left. I'll need some more though, so I'll maybe get that later today. More feeder filling done too, and some additions to the 2nd compost bin, which is now quite full. Must check the other one to see how it's breaking down. I think the hotter temps this year has really helped - when I turned it a while back it actually felt quite warm!
I won't be around for most of today, so nothing would have got done anyway, but it was handy getting those bits and bobs done yesterday. I even sat on the bench with a cuppa and watched the sparrows going daft as usual. Lovely jubbly

@Selleri @fairygirl Thank you both for your comments. As requested here are some photos. I am happy but i can see some improvements that can be made now that i can see it for real rather than the vague picture in my head, both to improve the structure and the planting but that corner of the garden needs a lot of work but should be worth the effort

Checking the plants grown from seeds in the greenhouse while it was raining and sunny at the same time. It’s like an ideal April day.

Lovely sunny weather all morning. Got the grass cut front and back, and raked out some moss from the front grass. Planted out my new orange echinaceas at the front, also a red salvia cutting that had been lurking forgotten behind the patio pots. Sowed a few hardy annual seeds and filled up the black sunflower seeds for the tits. It's lovely to have lots of rainwater available to puddle in the plants I put out.
Now raining on and off and more forecast so I will stick to indoor amusements for the rest of the day.

After removing my box hedge from the border in my front garden last week, I added some more grasses today, Seslerias, to contrast with the Anemantheles. Both grasses are evergreen, wind resistant, drought tolerant and don’t attract slugs, or box moth :rolleyespink:. These are my selection criteria for all new plants . I moved some Hakonechloa from the front garden to a shady location in the back garden. They really don’t like dry soil in full sun. Already they look much better after a good watering. I then deadheaded my dahlias and watered all containers.

Nothing for the last 10 days as we've been away in Germany. Got back to St Pancras on Eurostar by 5pm , by 6.30pm I was picking up windfall Apples and then I cut the grass. I got it done, just before the next shower. The main reason was because it's green bin day tomorrow, at least, I got it half full.

That structure looks pretty good @Robert Bowen. The posts being different heights would be the thing I'd find difficult, but that's just me! Lovely pix of your butterfly. It's great when they pose nicely isn't it?
My Acteas aren't flowering yet, which is late for them, but I had to move them so it's not surprising. A lot of things have been a bit odd this year - either much earlier or much later. The Aster is very late too - just starting to flower in the last few days.
Do you not compost your grass cuttings @Allotment Boy ?

Nothing done as I wasn't around yesterday, but today looks not bad weather wise [fingers crossed] so I'll hopefully get a few things done after my walk. I picked up some mortar on my way home later in the day, so maybe the final layer on the toadstool. I really need to get a couple of plants put in that have been sitting in their pots for a while, and I want to move a young Philadelphus that I grew from a cutting, which is in the front bed I'm sorting. Now that the other shrub I've been getting rid of won't be impacting the area, I can get it in a better spot. Can't do any of the other planting there as I've used stump killer on that shrub -no chance of easily getting it out.

I grow my dahlias in large containers and leave them outside all winter. This year they were slow to start into growth, they have finally made lots of strong, shorter than usual, stems, so far I have only had one flower.

@fairygirl, I have to confess that I used weed and feed on it before I went away, so no, not for the next few cuts anyway. I have to take clippings to the Allotments to compost anyway as the only place for compost here is at the bottom of the garden, the problem there is the laurel, the roots invade the heap and take all the goodness out.

Started at 8 and just finished with planting a Hardy Geranium which I had grown from seed.
I removed the endless germinated seeds of Phacilia, Cerinthe and Ox-eye daisies in the wildlife corner to keep everything under control. Removed most of the Phacilia in the wildflower raised bed, and planted my two saved Cerinthe.
Because of the high amount of work with Phacilia, I intend to use both beds for cabbage next year.
Finally, it took me 1.5 hours to clean the greenhouse, something I couldn’t do in late Spring and Summer due to the drought.

                            Happy to have done it.

@Goldenlily26 i have done that for the past 2 years with an assortment of bishop dahlias. I keep them close to the west facing wall of the house and top the pots with a bit of extra spent compost . Then come spring and i see signs of life , i lift the lot add fresh compost , add a stake and just add water and feed as appropriate and the display has got larger year on year. The photo shows some of the Llandaff types but see if you can spot the camouflage of the large moth , the second photo was not such a good choice of camouflage , photos taken a couple of weeks apart. Pulled up the pot marigolds around the path to get ready to plant the wallflowers, some of the polyanthus are starting to grow they looked dead after the droughts we had.
