I don't normally hear good things about the vac blowers , it seems to take forever and they are quite clumper sum and I suppose will get heavier after a while . Its easier to blown them into a corner and collect or blown them onto the grass and mow them up . I use the mow I am for to lazy to bend down .

I usually use a spring tine rake for collecting leaves but I find it a pain, the rake collects leaves rather than moving them, I'm forever removing the ones that are stuck in the tines.

I just want something I can blast everything into a pile without too much hassle.

I do wonder if it will be any good at blasting hedge clippings, I dont mind cutting hedges but I do find clearing up a right pain.

My DeWalt is an 18v and can blast hedge clippings easily; at 36v I should think you'll be able to just blow the hedge down :roflol:

If it's like mine then it has that but also a thumb control on top where you can push it but it's not sprung so you can set a steady speed. It's a really useful feature

Just picked it up,says reconditioned but it's basically brand new, got all the original packaging.

For a while I thought it didn't work, there is a knurled nut that holds the plastic nozzle on.
I tightened it up but it also has a recess for an Allen key.
It had a sign next to it showing an Allen key, so out of desperation I gave it an extra go with an allen key.

After that it worked, I wonder if someone had returned it and said it didn't work, I was close to taking it back.

It seems pretty effective even on half power.

                  How's the vac working out @pete ?
I bought an cheap Hyundai corded one which should be arriving today. Hopefully it will be decent enough at shredding all the leaf litter and tonnes of acorns

Hi Loofah, I've only tried it on blow, I haven't got much to vacuum at the moment.
As someone said earlier, I think it was @Perki , might be wrong, changing from blow to suck is not a quick operation, fitting the pipe and bag involves removing stuff and adding stuff.

But it was the blow side of it I really wanted, it's handy to just sweep the paths with and when the leaves start falling it should make life a bit easier.

TBH the bag doesn't look very big on mine, maybe because if its full it adds to the weight.

But to clear a decent amount of leaves I think a lot of emptying would need to go on.

I also bought a cheapish corded combination vac/blower this week but only for the vac function. It's a Bosch 3000W with variable speed. I tried it out yesterday. It's much better than my Stiga cordless combination vac/blower which was more than twice the cost. It picks up berries and wet leaves although I haven't tested it on any quantity yet. The collection bag is 50l. I chose it because the shredder wheel is metal rather than plastic. It shreds leaves into almost dust while the Stiga hardly did anything apart from collect and squash them! So far I'm impressed. It would also be a faff to change functions but I have a separate lightweight blower which is fine. Good luck with yours @Loofah!

Apparently mine is arriving late afternoon so might be able to test tomorrow.

I tried out my new scarifier earlier and that creates quite the clear up job!

I've unboxed it and first thought was 'a bit plasticky', not flimsy as such but clearly budget conscious. I've assumed the wheel inside is also plastic so longevity won't be optimal but let's see how it performs after my coffee break... The collection bag is a quick release which is a plus as the last one you had to squeeze two latches together to release and it was a right effort.
I've also already removed the nozzle as it was a tiny opening and and I want to hoover as much as possible in a short time
