Heuchera Villosa Autumn bride as you can see they are quite a large variety, they aren't liking this windy weather though

Grand stuff @Perki. Know what you mean about the Agastache. I'm trying Black Adder for the first time this year but decided to give it it's first year in a pot. I'll get it in the greenhouse soon so that it can dry off before the worst months. Maybe get it in the ground next year.

Gorgeous flowers as usual @Perki . But is that a nerine or an amarine? It looks a bit different - and I think the hybrids are fuller like that.

It were bought as a nerine bowdii from home and bargain a good few years ago now, I suppose they is the possibility it isn't what it's supposed to be. I do have a couple of big clumps but don't get many flowers 1 or 2 stems.

They are a great plants blue fortune I've found to be the hardest here, if they do survive the winter the slugs take the new shoots out . I do prefer the colour of black adder
I do / had one called kolbri which was an interesting orange variety slug proof and hardy, I think my allium have seen it off unfortunately

My only previous experience is with 'Blue Boa' (pictured) which looked superb, flowered into November & survived its first winter in the ground but has since died. I bought another last year and I've planted it in the same bed but with lots of gravel underneath & around. It struggled through the hot weather but hopefully it might last the winter.

Yes - those filler plants can be useful until you find something you like better @Plantminded
We have the very common purple geranium which grows everywhere, and it's useful while in flower, but again - no second flush.
I don't even know if it gets a 2nd one anyway, but many plants that have a 2nd flush don't get them here due to our usually later season. I thought we might get one as everything was coming into flower earlier this year due to the good weather, but no.

Sunflower. They've all stood up very well to Storm Amy. My only casualty is my tipped over pot of Zinnias, which I am leaving until the wind fully dies down down. They seem happy enough flowering horizontally.

These have appeared since Storm Amy, in the sunshine they smell of honey.

Definitely different to one in my cold greenhouse. I think I must have mislabeled. Looking at that, it is so similar to hederifolium, I'd have a job telling the difference

@CarolineL you're right it is very similar to C hederifolium, the flowers are larger though, the leaves come out as the flowers are almost finished, C hederifolium the foliage emerges with the flowers or at least while in full flower. The underside of C africanum leaves is green; whilst with C hederifolium the undersides tend to be reddish.
If you see them alongside each other you can see the difference.
What would definitely sort it out would be a really hard (2010/11) type winter as C africanum wouldn't survive and C hederifloium would; not a price I would willingly pay.
In the end as much as anything I have to rely on the corm coming from a reputable nursery and being as ordered.

Yes, it's not hardy, but anigozanthos "Big Yellow" has been going all summer. It'll go into the greenhouse when frost is due.
