So what are those pesky jobs in the garden, but life is too short to do?

For example, I have heard green compost.

Weeding the lawn into a green desert.

      Growing slugs or snails delight

Moving house and tending to a plant you hate because it grows well and looks comfortable.

Trying to grow plants you like the look of in the wrong soil
Nursing a plant that would be happier on the compost heap - think quality of life.
Apart from the first one, I have tried them all. If you're new to gardening, you will try them too.

Trying to annihilate Spanish bluebells. They can sense any intention before you start and dig themselves in deeper .

Another hoe and forget weed @Plantminded . It's a mystery to me how the bulbs manage to get so deep. I suppose the seeds wiggle down with the help of worms or whatever

I've been following your advice @BB3 and chopping off their leaves to weaken them. It does help :blue thumb:.

                I quite like them.

Life is too short to faff about turning a pink hydrangea blue. :spinning: Easier to move house to an acid soil location.

I used to enjoy weeding by hand but now a bad back and knees plus a triple heart bypass life is to short now so it is spray on weed killers for me and to pot with the greenies and their concoctions.

Life's too short for mowing lawns, that's why I got rid of them and have only interesting and colourful plants

Anyway there is a reason I brought this thread up.

Don’t know if you remember in the spring, when I mentioned I struggled to get my cannas out of mu pots, as I left them for several years and my struggle to get them out of the pot, but I duly did. So confronted whether to get the plants out of the pot or ride my luck and leave them through the winter.

But I have to say I have lifted some today and going to store them, some are still in flower, so don’t want to take these out, but want to repurpose the pots for daffodils.

I would like to add the following:
                        • Dealing with plants that are too prone to fungal diseases.
                        • Going out when it's dark and cold, or worse still windy, to cover a lot of plants with fleece in Winter (though I will do that selectively for very few).
                        • Comparing your lawn to your neighbour's. Personally I don't care about it being perfect and if it wasn't for my partner & dogs, I would get rid of it completely.
