Well done @Ladybird4 and team. Great result.

Best follow your instincts and not mix those pills @Goldenlily26. Another call to the surgery? What a pain!

Hope you are indeed over the worst @AuntyRach and can get some rest.

Interesting afternoon yesterday atrting with finding 2 goats in the road as I left to run my errands. They belong to a couple round the corner who now keep dwarf goats for mil in the barn behind us and use our paddock for making hay. This pair were normal sized young males who fancied the greener grass outside their garden. Helped their owners get them back in and set off again.

The community recycling shop refused my electric fryer! After that the fabric shop for bias binding and some deep red lacey stuff came with it - winter dance frock - then Jardiland for pansies and some strawberry plants and a dozen perennials and a toad lily leapt into the trolley then the Vietnamese store for lime pickle and preserved ginger and finally an SM for Possum's mozarella balls. Exhausting. I rarely do serial shopping like that.

Disturbed night thanks to a new set of harvest mite bites but it's nice and sunny out and set to get to around 21C for the next few days. I have sewing to do as well for patch club but will manage a couple of hours outside each day to play whilst topping up my vitamin D.

Happy baking @Ladybird4 and a fine Saturday to all.

      I agree with @Obelix-Vendée; a splendid result @Ladybird4
We are off to the van later. Most of the food for the next 3 nights is already stashed in the fridge, so it's just clothes and a few bits and bobs to take. The weather is 'set fair', so we might as well take advantage.
We have booked Sunday lunch tomorrow and will take Gin.
2 of our 'new' ladies on the site have been 'prettying it up' and made a huge difference. Their latest project involves a Christmas tree in a huge pot, which they have planted next to a new seating area. We have said we'll chip in as it will enhance our view!

I’m imagining, with great envy, a deep red, lacy, winter dance frock, @Obelix-Vendée! Sounds gorgeous!
Take it easy, @Goldenlily26! Maybe two or three smaller containers for apple gathering next time? OK, it’s extra trips but less likely to pull something which takes ages to heal back up. I’m still trying to manage one handed, left wrist is still sore but only when I do certain movements. So of course I forget, and then get a jolt of pain when I use it in the wrong direction. Very annoying.
I’d definitely follow the advice on here, re the new BP pills. I’d be inclined to speak to the pharmacist at wherever you have your prescription dispensed, and also the pharmacist at your surgery. I’d also look at the NICE guidelines! Often useful stuff on there. From what you’ve said about your cardiac nurse, I can’t say I’d be inspired with confidence!
Good to hear you are starting to recover, @AuntyRach. What you probably need is a really good rest, but sounds like a fat chance of that!
We've come out for breakfast and a walk, it’s dry but quite overcast. However, we need the exercise, and an incentive to get up, otherwise we could end up having breakfast in bed, scrolling through the ‘papers’ and catching up on here, and half the morning has gone!

          Good morning all.

Well done @Ladybird4 for the Quiz fundraising.

I know what you mean @Ergates. I wake up reasonably early but by the time I've had coffee in bed and read the papers on my phone and looked at WhatsApps and emails it isn't early anymore!

It's cloudy and windless this morning. Think I'll weedkill the drive. Lovely NDNs horrible Leylandii trees have dropped dead leaves all over the patio, washing lining area and the gravel slope bed. OH says he'll deal with it. I have a lot of weeding to do.

Tonight we are going to a friend's 80th birthday party in a village hall. It will have a Bollywood theme but we don't have anything Indian to wear. I think that's the grandchildren's idea. I'll wear a long dress. OH doesn't want to go, but we are very fond of our friend.

I am playing chase the parcel - doings for Monday's workshop. The website says it has been delivered to a relay at the wee SM in the next village. My order says to deliver it to my home address but it's not arrived so off I trot and voilà, no parcel. Come home and check post box and, lo and behold, a wee note dated the 9th saying they tried to deliver it but couldn't so it's gone to the Tabac. Funny that as we checked our box yesterday and Thursday.

Now I have to wait till it opens again at 2:30.

I do as little as possible on my mobile phone so have to get up and use my PC for news and catching up with friends but I do find mornings pass quickly when I stay in bed and read my Kindle.

Perhaps putting a crepe bandage on your wrist would remind you it's weak @Ergates.

Bollywood sounds fun @Busy-Lizzie, especially if they get you dancing bhangra style! When passing thru Singapore with Possum when she was just 6 and very pink I bought a length of raspberry pink sari fabric. Never used it for clothes but did sew some of it as a window embellishment for our bedroom which has one raspbarry pink wall. Possum, who's been living here only 5 years now, noticed them the other day and wanted to know when they'd gone up and why. Humph! You will have gathered she is no longer at all pink.

Hope the weather stays fair @Penny_Forthem and for everyone else too.

Finally went yesterday to see Downton Abby movie. Just loved it. The clothes were awesome. Sad to see it end. The last they will make of the story. Nice to see all the faces.

Parcel saga continued: On Saturday the Tabac doesn't open till 4pm. Long lunch! 2 trips but I have my parcel and the ladies can do their project.

Meanwhile, as it's too warm for winter trousers or jeans but not warm enough in the morning or evenings for frocks and bare legs, I've cut out some linen trousers and am off to sew. Possum is busy on her website project for her diploma and OH is away golfing so this mouse is going to play.

I would so love to go to a Bollywood themed party, @Busy-Lizzie! And OH would hate going to any sort of party! When I’ve had to insist he comes to something, he does usually end up chatting to other like minded types, and almost have to be dragged home afterwards, still insisting he had a horrid time! Do you have a nice scarf you could wrap round one shoulder as a stole?
I have been using a tubular bandage on my wrist as recommended on the NHS website. It does help quite a lot, and as you say, @Obelix-Vendée, does remind me to think before I reach! I’ll try an ice pack as well when I’ve finished typing. I have a bag of cheap Lidl peas in the freezer specifically for occasions like these!
Definitely cooler here, my cord trousers have had a couple of outings this week already. Very impressed at your sewing skills, @Obelix-Vendée, I’m so slow with projects that I’d hesitate to even start making something to wear at Christmas - unless it was Christmas 26! And I could guarantee that I might be the same size I am now!

Hello all, hope you enjoy the Bollywood themed party @Busy-Lizzie but hope it's not too noisy.

Haven't been doing much these last two days, my back is twinging so am taking it easy, our usual daily walks, light garden pottering and some ironing, just to add some spice to our oh so exciting lives.

What a pain just to get a parcel @Obelix-Vendée. We've been quite lucky here recently and all our parcels have been delivered safely - not that we've had many.

Fingers crossed you'll start feeling much better soon @AuntyRach.

We are ensconced (i do like that word!) and cosy.
We marinated chicken in a Korean bulgogi sauce and bbq'd it. Will be the last evening Q for a while.
Need to find something not too taxing to watch tonight.
I could watch paint dry and fall asleep.

I hope you have a lovely time at the party tonight - Bollywood or not @Busy-Lizzie. As long as you feel comfortable in whatever you wear. 80 is quite a significant birthday and I'm sure that your friends will be happy that you got home in time to celebrate it with them.
I am clocking off for tonight as last night's late hour is slowly catching up on me. See you lovely lot tomorrow.

@Ergates I've been making my own clothes for 55 years so can rustle up a pair of trousers in a day but not as fast as they're required to do on the Sewing Bee. This is a new pattern tho so may need some adjustments along the way.

@Ladybird4 have a good sleep. We're no longer young enough to ignore the fatigue of extra exertions, no matter how much fun.

Korean fried chicken for Possum and me @Penny_Forthem. Have to avoid BBQ as OH thinks he knows what he's doing and I disagree and when he's not here I can't be bothered.

Take it easy with your back @lizzie27.

Strictly for me and Possum then bed. Tiring day really. Sweet dreams all.

                            Happy Sunday.jpg
A very good morning all and despite the forecast of fog for this morning it is quite clear outside. I slept like a log last night and am ready for tea and coffee morning.
The colchicums I planted a few weeks back are looking very pretty at the moment but when I looked closely the other day, each flower had its own tiny baby snail living in it. I removed them all of course but was very much impressed at the huge journey those little things would have made to get into those flowers.
I hope that you all have a good day today - can't wait to hear about @Busy-Lizzie's Bollywood party.

Plans for essential work here changed once I'd had a good look round, so the living room walls have had holes repaired in the ancient plaster, and a good wash and paint. The bedroom painting will have to wait for another visit.
It's the harvest festival at the island church today, so I'll be walking there later. The service is at 12.30, to fit in with the ferries, as the minister comes across from the mainland.
Hope @AuntyRach is now fully recovered, @Penny_Forthem is enjoying the time at the van, @Obelix-Vendée 's trousers are coming on nicely, @Busy-Lizzie 's weeds are decreasing, and those with health problems are bearing up... I'm sorry not to be able to remember everything you've been up to!
                              Have a lovely day!

Good morning. After a clear night we have some cloud and a bit of mist clearing away and, at last, the forecast mentions rain but not till Sunday.

Birds fed, chooks let out and have had their daily rice, polytunnel checked. Just having my first coffee then I'm off to sew.

Sounds busy @Liriodendron. I hope you're able to enjoy some downtime and that lovely scenery and a good walk today.

Hope your coffee morning goes well @Ladybird4 and yes, we need Bollywood news.
