Hello all you lovely lot. It is definitely chilly today being only 8°C outside. Time to get my pelargoniums into the shelter of the GH but that will have to wait as it is Bestie visiting day today. I will be taking my knitting too as it is full on prep for the C*******s Fair. Whatever you have got planned for today, enjoy all your activities.

I went to the chiropodist, my feet feel wonderful, did a shop in the Co-Op then came home and did not a lot until late afternoon when I caught up on the washing up.
There was a message on my phone asking me to call my surgery. OMG! It took some time to work out what I was supposed to do. Some new tablets were waiting for collection, I thought I had already been given them last week, and to make an ap. for an ECG. No idea why. As I was already booked in next week for some bloods to be taken the ECG ap.was made at the same time. Later my daughter called me to tell me I had tablets waiting to be collected, yes I knew about that, and I was to take them for at least 2 weeks before having an ECG done. Now I have to call the surgery to change my ap.next week. Talk about lines being crossed.
I have to wait in this morning for a call from the cardiac nurse so she may be able to clarify it all for me. My head is spinning from apts.,multiple visits to various hospitals and overload of info.etc.

I think I am going to give club a miss this week as I have visitors over the weekend and there are still jobs that need to be done.

My ex. used to make wine and win prizes with it. He made some beetroot wine one year, it was disgusting! The batch was put down the drain but 7 years later he found a single bottle hidden away and missed. It was delicious, just like a good sherry. When I was on my own I began making wine and had some successes but also came home from a holiday, after a heat wave, to find the kitchen awash with sticky wine where some bottles had blown their corks. It is surprising how far wine can travel under pressure.
      Have a great day everyone.

        Morning one and all.
        It's a still, murky day.
Bit of a breakthrough with Rufus this morning; he's been sleeping in the kitchen with the others, but starts barking at 8am. Mindful of the impending clock change, I wanted to avoid a 7am start. He doesn't do this at the van, where he feels more 'included'. Last night, I put the big bed, that we use when they go into kennels, in the dining area (we are open plan except for the kitchen) and there wasn't a peep out of him. I actually slept till nearly 9!
My OH is a home brewer of cider and wine, though not so much of the latter these days. We do have damson wine on the go at the moment. He used to be a judge of fruit liqueurs at local shows (I had to go with him as the driver and note taker). There were some spectacular ones and a fair selection of dire ones.
Meeting a friend for lunch today, then I have 3 days of no commitments; bliss.

          Good morning all.

I've just read back all yesterday's posts.

Yesterday we visited Corfu Town and took a bus to Benitses, a seaside village.

We both slept badly despite all the walking yesterday. We have had a lazy morning. Two hours ahead of the UK here. Soon we'll take a bus and explore Corfu Old Town. It's been raining.

I've booked a boat trip to Paxos tomorrow but the forecast says rain. Hope it won't be cancelled. At least we'll be doing something undercover.

Hi everyone. Bright and sunny here but jolly cold first thing and we were up early.

Started off with a 45 minute wait to get our flu jabs done as lots of couples seem to have had the same idea and collected their free jabs yesterday, the first day they were available. Thence to the SM for our weekly raid starting with a much needed coffee.

Nothing exciting planned other than potting up some free plants. Waiting for rain to get bigger jobs done.

Hope your boat trip goes ahead @Busy-Lizzie. We did a villa-flotilla sailing holiday from there many years ago so only saw it from the coast but enjoyed it.

I make bread @Penny_Forthem and that's enough yeasty activity for me. I do also make fruit flavoured vodka/gin/brandy but that's not explosive.

Enjoy your knit and natter @Ladybird4 and have a lovely afternoon all.

The boat trip has been cancelled, storms forecast. May go on Sunday.

We are sitting at a café in Corfu town under big umbrellas overlooking the cricket green. It's raining and windy. I've had hot chocolate. We looked at the old fort before the weather changed.

Afternoon folks. I’ve done a few jobs and visited Dad today. I took him sausage dinner leftovers so he was chuffed with that. His ‘gardener’ (aka next door neighbour) has been unable to do much this Summer/Autumn so I did a little tidy round.

I hope you are enjoying your holiday @Busy-Lizzie - may the weather improve.

I hope everyone has had a decent day - rain or shine (or more likely gloomy cloud).

That's such a shame @Busy-Lizzie, hope the weather will clear up soon. The village looked very pretty.

I enjoyed a good catchup with my friend at the GC this morning until a big party came in for some kind of celebration and it got noisy. I bought a pack of 18 T n T daff bulbs at half price and a small tray of violas, also reduced. They do look a bit battered but I'm hoping they'll perk up.
Spent the afternoon planting both which took a good 2 hours so I ache a bit now.

I can't believe you still haven't had any rain Obelix, mind you the soil here was very dry a couple of inches down when I tried to plant the bulbs.

Oh, @Goldenlily26, it gets worse! No wonder your head is spinning, it's about time your surgery got their act together and organized things better. Can't imagine what pills they need you to take before an ECG, I've never had to before. Hope it all gets sorted out soon.

@Ladybird4 - solved the mystery about why you have to weigh the incoming goods at the food bank as my daughter told me last night she has to do the same at the Trussel one she volunteers at. It's apparently the best way of calculating how many tonnes there are of incoming produce and how many tonnes then get given away. Not sure why they need the info but there you go!

                  Have a good evening all.

Enjoyed lunch. I was quite abstemious in my choice of mains and felt virtuous. Then I had a small slice of brownie...
                    No supper required.
We always take each other small gifts; she had a jar of hedgerow jelly, 4 Katy apples, a Williams pear and small (very small) fruit liqueurs. I got a box of almond squidgy delights.
Rufus has commandeered the large dog bed and after much circling, has got it just to his satisfaction!

Good evening all. Oh my days @Goldenlily26 I am stunned by the latest chapter in your medical saga. What the Hanover is going on at your surgery?? It really sounds as if the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and you are left completely bemused.
Thank you for the pictures @Busy-Lizzie. I hope that you have enjoyed your trip to Corfu and that the weather has been kind to you both. I am impressed by your resistance to temptation @Penny_Forthem and love the way Rufus has settled into his 'new' bed. I love that turning round and round that dogs do prior to flopping.
Thanks @lizzie27, our food bank is also run by the Trussell Trust but we have never had the weighing explained to us. It is all most mysterious.
I had a great time with Bestie today. She was busy getting all of her Hallowe'en dekkies out. I know, I know! :yikes: She and her daughter (my hairdresser) are always mega early for celebrations. Their C*******s dekkies go up on December 1st. I got lots of my little daisies finished and started knitting a penguin. I had to leave a little earlier than planned as I received a text informing me that a parcel from IKEA I was expecting tomorrow was being delivered today. It upset all the plans but it arrived and that means I will have tomorrow to do as I wish.

                            Good morning to you all!!

The sun is trying to peep through the clouds, I hope we have a sunny day. No rain here either @lizzie27 The land is dry!

Oh that golden haired boy of yours @Penny_Forthem Such a warm autumn colour.
Lovely photos @Busy-Lizzie I hope the weather clears enough for some sightseeing.

I have been given lots of long green/red peppers, so I will stuff them this morning. Eat some. Freeze some! I have taken the last wild boar shoulder out of the freezer to part slow cook today for a luncheon tomorrow. A fresh fruit salad to make - I got a mango at Aldi on Tuesday and put it into a brown paper bag with apples to ripen - well soften - mangoes never taste here as they do ripe off the tree!!

I wish everyone a happy end of the week day!

                              Good morning all.

The weather is pretty awful here now. It's tipped with rain, thunder and lightning, howling gale. The sea is rough and there are big waves. It's quite chilly too. I only packed 1 jumper. Mustn't spill anything on it! I have a cardigan too though.

I had a shock when OH was in the bathroom as both our phones made loud warning noises. It was the Greek government sending a red warning weather alert. They advised people to stay inside today.

There has been much better weather in Dordogne. When it was light here I looked at the security cameras in Dordogne and Norfolk and it was dark in both places.

I'm glad you had a good time with your bestie @Ladybird4.

Here are a few photos from yesterday.

Good morning. Bright and sunny again and chilly but not yet frosty.

I have to deal with the septic man this morning. We had a control earlier in the year and it seems the middle filtration tank needs tickling as it has water in it and shouldn't. We also have to change the hats and heights of the two ventillation pipes. No idea how its installation passed muster unless regs have changed since but otherwise all is well.

I shall cut out another pair of trousers while he's faffing then go and play outside this pm. OH fetched me 3 new bags of compost yesterday so I can go thru my "nursery and prep it for winter.

Hope you get your list organised @Ladybird4 and all your peppers stuffed @Tui34. Where do you get your wild boar?

Sorry your weather's not good @Busy-Lizzie but your photos are interesting despite the grey so I hope you're both enjoying yourselves.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing.
