I've only just got round to watching last week's episode, and I did enjoy Adam's item. Fast forwarded quite a lot of the rest!

Monty hasn’t done that many episodes this year, so looks like BBC’s main policy of moving away from just one main presenter after scandals is taking affect.

So surprised Francis presented the last one this year, which did feel very autumnal, roll on next year where no doubt they will be dividing snowdrops!

Just a reminder that there is no GW programme tomorrow as there's a football match.
Monty is back next week at the usual time .

I have yet to have time to watch the last 2 episodes anyway @AnniD. OH has been hogging the Sky box for golf and cricket and noisy Grand prix stuff so I leave him to it. He's away golfing this weekend so I can catch up.

        8pm tonight.

"Monty has plenty of ideas to make the most of the season - from creating new plants for free by dividing herbaceous perennials to planning a dazzling spring display by sowing iris bulbs. He’s also planting elephant garlic for next year’s kitchen and Asian greens to keep his salads fresh all winter long.

Carol Klein reveals some new seasonal planting combinations to keep gardens bursting with colour, even in the coldest months. Meanwhile, Joe Swift visits an inspiring Bristol project that’s transforming lives through gardening - a space where people and plants grow together.

Plus a passionate gardener growing flowers that he thinks are the drag queens of his borders, and a bold garden experiment tackling the challenges of climate change head-on. "

Just watching GW and I’m getting fed up with these Climate Witnesses.
“… how to deal with 4 inches of rain on one day …”

          Seriously, it’s ridiculous.

Not watched it but it sounds very much like the BBC.

Monty is wrong about tomatoes no longer ripening. I have a cherry tomato outside (I think it's Veranda Red?) and I am eating 2 or 3 off it every day.

The problem is that people like that woman don’t do any good for this topic. Of course, climate changes and has always changed as we all know. Already in my life time, I experienced every decade a different weather. But the climate itself hasn’t changed, we are still in the same climate that we are for the last 6000 years at least.
What has changed are the periods of warm and cold, wet and dry weather.
At least, that woman used the conjunctive when she spoke about her grandfather’s garden experiences and she doesn’t know what challenges he was facing.
It’s with these Monty Don’s episodes when he is in charge.
I still remember when he started in March two or three years ago with: don’t get me wrong the earth doesn’t break apart, it’s only the question if humans can survive.
After bending our ears for years how terrible global warming will end, obviously someone told him over winter that earth has had all kinds of changing climate.
If something was good in his learning curve, he gave up heated greenhouses, but only and only! because the energy prices went through the roof and he sold it to viewers as his environmental contribution. What a hypocrite.

Picked a few myself yesterday outside, but I think if it turns wet it could be the end for mine.
About the latest I've had tomatoes outside is bonfire night, but that was years ago before I had blight problems.

I like Carol Klein and her ideas very much but I'd struggle to find any plants like those in her new border in that condition in mid October, either locally or online. Certainly inspirational but also disappointing :noidea:.

Perhaps they need to put a title up saying when each section was filmed.

Haven't seen it yet but @AnniD's summary above describes Carol's scheme as seasonal planting to provide colour thru the colder months. Have to remember Carol's garden is in Devon so the same plants won't work in much of middle and northern England or up a Welsh mountain or eastern Scotland.

l’ve read many of Carol’s books so I know where her garden is. A winter scheme for a typical UK garden with plants that are available near the time of broadcasting would be more appropriate if the intention is to encourage viewers in general to plant a new border. If the intention is just for us to see what Carol’s doing in Devon, that’s fine, I liked it :).

Well my bottle brush has decided to flower again so I'm not sure what month that should go in.
