Maybe it's turning into a real one @cactus_girl, like a cat version of Pinocchio? :hate-shocked:

Today some guests that I have had for a few days left, so I went to a garden centre, picked up some potting grit & well rotted manure to amend my soil, and finally planted a Stipa Gigantea I received on Thursday. It took me a while to decide on the exact positioning and 10 mins after I thought I was done, I went back and moved it very slightly again - which is typical for me

Hmm, you don't think an inch to the left would have been better, @CostasK.

      I jest!

I'm surprised you only moved it once @CostasK

If you're anything like me, you'll move it another three times at least over the next year. I'm terrible for footering with plant positions!

Let me clarify @fairygirl  I moved it 3-4 times during the initial planting session. Then I moved it again after I looked at it with a fresh pair of eyes a few minutes later. As for the future.. Who knows! A lot of my plants should be considered nomads by now.

@ViewAhead if you had said right instead of left, I might have taken the bait :heehee:

Did you look at it from all points of the compass @CostasK? You may find that if you approach it from a different direction it will require emergency movement, relocation, removal or donation .

All part of the fun eh @CostasK ?
Often, it depends on where you're going to view the plant from most. That's what I always bear in mind, especially for plants/features that I see from the house windows from this time of year until spring, when you're inside more.
Not sure what I'll do today, but the overnight wind and rain has made way for clear skies and sun [until rain again this evening] so I'll get my walk and then 'contemplate'. Considering another little green roof for a site I have for bees/insects to overwinter. I'd moved it a few days ago, but the 'roof' it has isn't as suited because the site faces the weather a little more than in the previous site. I expect I have lots of little bits and pieces to make it, and plenty of saxifrages and sedums for it.
I have other plants to put in, but they're near the main bird feeders, and I hate disturbing their constant activity. I'm always apologising to the birds when I have to go past. Bonkers...

Sunny here, need to get out and tidy away courgette and squash plants among with some other stuff. Then weeding I think starting with around the spring flowering Arums which have all put up leaves in the past week or so.

Planted some more tulips in the border that i cleared yesterday and cleared another border with Cosmo and potted lilies, there was a self sown cosmos seedling that i left because it still looks good and it's not in the way.

Nothing so far today as we had "errands" to do this morning, including getting a new strap for my old watch that I wear in the garden. I was reflecting again over the years I must have spent 10times what I paid for it in batteries and straps!!

@CostasK , I could send my wife round if you want. I've often joked that if I set out some plants (still in pots) I always get her to look at them. She will often move one or two an inch or so, then I plant. I know thst would drive a lot of people mad but she has "the eye" and they always look better, so I don' mind at all.

Last night’s wind dislodged one of the plants in my small pond so I added some extra packing to keep it upright. An Equisetum at an angle is very disquieting . I noticed that the water Forget Me Not is starting to flower :). I also put up another bird feeder to hold a couple of suet blocks and cleaned the birdbath. Too wet to cut the lawn but it might be better tomorrow.

Courgettes got a reprieve as there were two or three still developing. Picked some more Aztec broccoli.
Seems that this summer got to Ypsilandra thibetica, I'll have to have a good look for it after the first frosts have reduced the very large Impatiens tinctoria (still flowering) to mush.
Dahlia imperialis has got a flower bud on it.

I got my little green roof constructed, but the paint to tidy up the edges didn't have time to dry properly, so I covered it loosely. Didn't want the approaching rain to wash it off, which has happened in the past! I prepped the tray to sit inside the frame, but the planting will have to wait until tomorrow as I won't be around today, and the weather's poor anyway. Don't want them annihilated before they get a chance to enjoy their new position! I potted up some spare white Muscaris too, so they can sit somewhere in view of the house.
My Irises arrived too, so I'll be footering with those in a couple of days. I can always pot them up in the shed.

Weeding, trimming in the bed opposite the one from yesterday.
Check greenhouse and plants in there, move some more dahlias from front of property to greenhouse.
