Wow @Valleysgirl that's a long wait for your cup and saucer plant! Mine have been flowering since August from seed sown in March and are still going strong. Mind you only the ones I put in a container flowered - the ones I was hoping would cloak a fence at the bottom of the garden never did.

Zinnias still looking jolly in spite of the pot being regularly on its side due to the wind.

Two Princesses - Fuschia "Patio Princess" and Daphne "Perfume Princess". Also some chillies still ripening.

Ours has only been in a couple of years and it seems to thrive in full sun (we read that what they do well in here). Our soil is sandy and free draining but it sailed through this year without any watering at all and norwich was probably a bit drier than where you are.

I got another three because they were reduced to £4 each at the garden centre from about £25 or so (simply because they had flowered and looked a little tired). I think I got snow queen, ruby slippers and another missing it's label. I must say that our original is just a bog standard and it actually looks far better without the flowers, which are large and overly floppy. They seem to colour well (no colour yet on the ones in the garden but those in pots are bright red) and keep most of their foliage in winter.

That's really good that they do well for you @Thevictorian, especially with that lighter soil. I thought you were in London, but Norfolk is certainly very dry compared to here. It'll only get wetter here too as we're not getting such cold winters, so it means more rain rather than snow, which is a pain!
Mine are just the bog standard ones, and they do keep their foliage quite well, but not through the main part of winter, although the one under the window is slightly better in that regard. The framework of the branches is lovely though, and especially as they age and it peels a bit.

Forgot to add this yesterday. Not a garden plant, but certainly looking good.
The lower overnight temps on Saturday into Sunday[2 degrees] and clear skies meant we had a lovely sunrise appearing accompanied by some hefty clouds.

Unfortunately, the clear skies didn't last, but the brief glow was lovely.
I have that view from my kitchen windows, and when I got up and went in there, I could see the light coming through the edge of the slightly open door, and I thought I'd left the lights on overnight!
