Thanks, @Obelix-Vendée - socialising with like-minded people is great for my mental health, and the knit-&-natterers are a lovely lot. Wish I could dance... but at least I sing in choirs, which is also supposed to be really beneficial. Glad you enjoyed your afternoon!

Cedric must have been in pain from his eyelashes for a while, @Busy-Lizzie . Hope he gets them sorted very soon, so he can have the cataract op.

Still too wet here to garden this afternoon. I managed not to go to sleep, but spent some time instead shredding old documents and ripping up cardboard for the compost heap. Boring but useful!

Hope you're all having a peaceful evening.

@Liriodendron I can't sing but I do when no-one's around to hear it. Nothing to stop you dancing round the kitchen as you cook.

Evening. Such a busy work day! I will stay up for Traitors though.

Late Birthday wishes to @Penny_Forthem - I hope you’ve had a lovely day to match the weather.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Catch you all tomorrow.

We have had an interesting evening. There was a table of 15 international renewable energy experts introducing themselves to each other. Wow. Chilli, Spain, Israel..
you get the picture. We couldn't help but eavesdrop.
Only to marred by a phone call from my cousin's husband to say she's in intensive care and it doesn't look good.

              Good morning everyone.
So very sorry to read that news about your cousin @Penny_Forthem. Unfortunately, that sort of sad news becomes more and more common once you have reached our time of life. Carpe diem everyone. On a lighter note, I would have been wigging in on the energy chat too.
Off to Bestie's today. Taking my knitting - tiny Christmas puddings at the moment - but I do wish they were knitted on fatter needles as I struggle these days with anything less then 4mm. Whatever you have planned for your days, I hope all goes well. @Busy-Lizzie I do hope that your OH doesn't have to wait too long for the corrective eyelid surgery.

                Good morning all.

I'm sorry about your cousin @Penny_Forthem. Sending hugs. I hope she isn't in too much pain.

Thank you for the sympathy for Cedric. I told him.

I slept very well. I was tired so I went to bed earlier than usual. I don't think my body clock knows where it is yet. We came from France, an hour ahead, then went to Corfu, 2 hours ahead, then came back to England so 2 hours behind again, then the clocks went back an hour. Now it's 3 hours behind what it had been in Corfu.

We are going to lunch at our local pub up the street with our friends from down the street.

It looks like being a nice day. Think I'll wash the towels. They may dry on the line.

Quick check in while I have temporary wifi! Still no result on home phone and broadband, new router and connector, but still no good. Open reach next port of call.
Volterol has been great on my wrist! Will read back all the posts when we are reconnected! Take care all.

Cloudy start but turning sunny now. I've been pottering indoors sorting out seasonal clothing changes whilst waiting for a parcel - our postie now comes anytime between 10:30 and 1:30 - and then I can go down the garden where I don't hear doorbells or gate bells.

Himself is golfing today so weekly shop tomorrow which may be a lot less peaceful than usual as our SM will be closed on Saturday for Toussaint. I've made myself a very healthy red lentil and pink onion soup and will go and play with my new plants and seedlings this pm.

Have a fun/restful/healing/productive day as needed.

Good morning all. Dull and dismal here too, so I shall be cooking, cleaning and being boringly domestic today.

I bring greetings again from "PatE" in western Australia. She made a couple of new jigsaws from her photos, on the "Jigsaw Planet" website (where you could "follow" her & send her messages, by the way). One jigsaw was a landscape consisting mostly of sky and beautiful clouds, like the photos she used to post on the GW site, and the other was an echidna, investigating the pots behind her house. (I had to research echidnas - amazing egg-laying mammals, with a pouch like a marsupial and spines like a hedgehog.) Pat seems well, but feeling her age. She was giving an update on their cat Pixel, who loves sleeping on the bed between her and her OH.

We are home, via collecting he dogs, who were ecstatic to see us.
Hub's insomnia and night time 'Tourette's' is a real problem when we go away, as I cannot decamp to a different room. As a result, I was so tired when I got home that I went straight to bed for a couple of hours' sleep. I might investigate a sleep mask and ear plugs! (I put an ! mark, but it doesn't feel very funny at 3am)
No news about my cousin, but both my other cousin and I don't think there'll be a good outcome.

Thanks for the news about Pat @Liriodendron. I have sometimes come across Pat on the jigsaw site but I tend to do puzzles with fewer pieces. I follow her but she doesn't follow me.

Back from lunch at the pub. Good to chat with our friends as they are off to Australia for a month. I had fish and chips, couldn't finish the chips, then raspberry bombe for pud. That was a bit disappointing as normally it's a frozen dessert but it was a hot sponge with raspberry jam in the middle. Need to veg out on the sofa for a bit.

OH has managed to get his rarely used smartphone (mainly used as a camera, and he has never really explored what it can do) to act as a hotspot! I can use my iPad as long as I don’t try photos or stuff, and he has enough data left. Another long chat with our broadband supplier, promised a phone call back this afternoon at the latest - or maybe tomorrow!!! Tiresome doesn’t sum it up adequately!
I’ll open the back pages while I’m connected, so I can read through later, so in the meantime, please consider yourselves ‘liked’ or commiserated with. Then I’ll download a couple more books from the library so I have something to read if I wake in the night. Undoubtedly much better for me than scrolling through the news and giving myself fodder for nightmares.
