I found twin beds in a hotel worked better for us @Penny_Forthem, OH used to suffer from 'restless leg syndrome' and kept kicking me in his sleep. You can't easily cope with that - apart from separate rooms that is!

I had to fill in the new GP online triage form this morning and found out it was only available to use from 7 am to 11.30 am. No wonder I couldn't get in yesterday afternoon. My breathing is getting worse so I need to see a GP I think. Had a text back within 2 hours - good but the nearest appointment face to face is in 4 weeks time - bad. Lucky to get an appointment at all I suppose.

Managed to do some gardening though this morning which kept me happy even if I did have to sit down every half hour.

Pleased to hear that PatE and Pixel are still going strong @Liriodendron - which reminds me, Goldenlily34 still hasn't posted? I do think it might be a good idea if we all give our nearest and dearest our sign in details for this forum should it ever become necessary to update us. What do others think?

Did anyone else watch Grand Designs last night? Ye gods, what a folly! I couldn't decide whether they were brave or mad. I didn't like the end result I must confess.

4 weeks for an appointment @lizzie27!! That’s not lucky - that’s awful!! You can’t have a telephone appointment for symptoms like that either. It used to be about 2 weeks for non-urgent but your symptoms should be within a week if common sense and clinical judgement had any part in the system. I hope you are doing ok.

Worried about @Goldenlily26 now you’ve mentioned it. Hopefully technical issues rather than health.

Feeling chilly this evening, even though it’s not particularly cold outside. Sausage and gravy dinner should warm things up though.

I hope everyone is doing ok. Thoughts to those with worries or annoyances this week.

 

I think that's awful too @AuntyRach and @lizzie27 but Cedric's surgery is just as bad if not worse. Any chance of getting an appointment if you go to the surgery and make a fuss?

I remember @Ladybird4 updating us when Joyce died and punkdoc's wife, Moira, did when he was very unwell. I'm on a couple of WhatsApps with some of the GW people but if they passed I probably wouldn't know. Cedric is 10 years older than me, if I went before him then he would contact friends and family but I doubt he would contact forums. Gosh what an unhappy subject! I hope @Goldenlily26 is OK.

We had a good natter with our friends in the pub over lunch. They are off to Australia for a month and we are off to Yorkshire on Saturday, visiting friends and family.

I stopped watching Grand Designs some time ago. I really prefer old beamy listed buildings.

Good evening all. Some very sombre postings on here but some sensible thoughts. @lizzie27 my oldest nephew is my executor and I have sealed instructions how to access all my necessary information online and who to inform when necessary. I am not being morbid here, just (I hope) sensible.

 

Thinking of @Goldenlily26 and I was pleased to hear about PatE and Pixel. @AuntyRach I had sausages and gravy last night. Great comfort food for a cold evening.

 

I had a great time with my Bestie this morning and she actually knitted a tiny Christmas pudding from my pattern book for me. It is her birthday tomorrow and I have to say she is the nicest witch I know!

Good morning everyone. I have been awake nearly all night - no idea why but I think a quiet day is in order, well after I have been into the village to pick up a prescription. I hope that you all have a spooktacular day, this last day of October.

I forgot to pick up some Halloween sweets for work today but I do have a tub of Millionaire’s Shortbread to take in to pull us through the long shift.

I'm sorry you slept badly @Ladybird4. I hope you don't feel too tired today.

I've just put the bin out and it feels quite mild outside.

Today we will be packing again as tomorrow we are off to Yorkshire to see my late husband's sister and her OH then my old school friend who was my bestie for years, still is but we live so far apart now. Looking forward to seeing her.

First we will go to our local town as Cedric has ordered his new diary which I always give him for Ch......s. He likes one that is like a hard back book with a decorated cover.

I'm sorry about your lack of sleep, @Ladybird4 . I'm sure you'll have tried all the recommended things to do (and not to do) before bedtime; fingers crossed tonight will be better.

You must be able to pack in your sleep now, @Busy-Lizzie ! Have a good trip and catch-up with your bestie. I'm worried about mine... best friend at school, and my bridesmaid for my wedding. We also live a long way apart as she's in Jersey. She was ill before last Christmas and I haven't been able to contact her since then. It definitely nudges me to leave family a list of friends and organisations to contact if anything should happen to me.

The promised dry day has disappeared - it's currently raining, though we may get a short dry window this afternoon. At least nothing needs watering!

Good Day all. yep, still alive here. Leaves are falling nutty now. We are off to another adventure today, drive up to Rhode Island for a week, have not been there in about 10 years or so, a 6 hour drive. Ages ago we went up there for a New Years Eve party at the Belcourt Castle, was awesome.
Anyway, November will be lots of more traveling, down to New Bern, NC later and then over to Georgia for Thanksgiving. Planning on some interesting sites on the drive up from Georgia to home, not in stone yet. Hope the rest of December and January will be quiet at home, have to get those leaves removed.

Besides the Chess Club I go to have also joined the Scrabble Club, keeps the old brain working, meeting some nice folks.

And BTW in case your losing sleep over this, that wedding we went to end of August past, no picts posted of that wedding, bride and groom yet. So strange.

Anyway. take care all.

 

Slept well last night but woke up to find 5 new bites developing to the very itchy stage. Infuriating. I thought it was all over!

I think you've got our rain @Liriodendron. We were supposed to be wet this morning but had barely a dribble and now it's sunny. Not complaining as long as we get tomorrow's rainfall please.

Have a good trip @Busy-Lizzie. Any chance of a visit to Betty's tearooms? Or Harlow Carr which has one?
