It’s been an odd day, weather wise. Sunshine, then rain, then sunshine and back to rain plus it’s a bit breezy. The black clouds are really whizzing across the sky, yet the tree leaves are only rustling - very strange.
Good to see you posting again @redstar. A bit odd that you’ve not been sent any wedding pictures. Actually, we were at a wedding in June and the only photos we have are the ones we took ourselves, even though there was a photographer present. I wonder if it’s the way of things now.

Bit breezy here now, tho nothing unpleasant, yet the few clouds about are hardly moving at all.

 

Afternoon all. not doing much today as it has been raining on and off ever since we got back from our daily walk, fortunately in the dry. I had to post a returns parcel, bought a pair of slippers which are slightly different colours and the right one didn't feel right either. Slightly strange as I've been buying those style slippers, mules with a nice thick non slip sole from the same company for the last ten years.

Just had a lovely phone chat with my daughter who sounded really bubbly and happy, such a welcome relief. She's doing a lot of volunteer work for the foodbank charity and is now in charge of the warehouse and logistics - she's a statistical analyst so that's right up her street. If only they could pay her, life would be perfect and I could relax a bit.

Right, time for a cuppa.

 

Not heard of Laminar flow @Obelix-Vendée, but as they say, every day is a school day .
It explains why the clouds higher in the atmosphere are going at such a rapid speed compared to lower down.

 

It's just layers @Blue arbour . Water does it too, especially in rivers - slightly faster just under the surface where there's no friction with the air. Laminate flooring is just layers too but not meant to flow once installed.

Good news about your daughter @lizzie27. Great that she's found an outlet for her skills that is appreciated.

I have been pottering and researching geraniums. Looks like Ann Folkard is not the best idea if we have a drought so have been looking for others with strong colours. Then some sewing whilst our garlicky, herby lamb belly roasts. Multigrain garlic bread and a fennel and apple salad as a nod to "healthy".

Possum has begun a new course - editing videos - and has been regaling us with stories, including her being paired up with a 16 year old doing day release. This is going to be interesting.

Whoops @Obelix-Vendée that was @Bluejayway not me. Well hello to November! Can someone please tell me where this year has gone? I had a much better sleep last night so I am ready for whatever today throws at me. I know a lot of knitting needs doing but that can be fitted in whenever. It looks quite breezy outside so its time for another cuppa whilst I ponder at the 'to do' list.

Sewing for me then, once admin done, then maybe some quarrying if OH is willing.

I just climbed into my gardening gear, looked out of the window - and it was of course raining again. Made a cup of coffee, sat down - and it's now dry with sunshine. It looks like it's going to be one of those in and out days!

Better run out there quick.

My lovely cousin is rallying and we were sent a photo of her in ICU surrounded by her family. I was amazed to see none of them wearing masks!

I felt wiped-out this morning but I’ve picked up my click n collect shop and checked in on Dad, so I can have a quiet afternoon now. There were massive puddles out and about, presumably as leaves are blocking drains on the roads. I must check the one outside my house.
