very nice place we are staying at for this week in Rhode Island. Very clean, two nice bedrooms, we like to sleep separately, both beds are queen size. two bathrooms. so one for him and one for me. So no arguments of Please put the toilet seat down before flushing. Little sweet kitchen, has all the necessary items. Brought a loaf of homemade bread , eggs, sausages, cheese, fruits, cereal, milk, coffee ect. Seems this location is really close, walking distance to lots of cute shops. Yes, chilly here, but 60 during the day is nice. I came prepared for layering. There are three TV's in this place, unreal. One in each bedroom and one in the living room. Nice stacks of towels. Had a lovely dinner at local restaurant. Off to take a shower. No real plans right now for the day. We have been to Rhode Island about 10 years ago, so we did tour the castles then. Might have missed on, who knows. Later.

Openreach guy has been, and got the phone and internet working! It’s taken a little while to get all the ‘appliances’ connected up via the new router, takes ages when the passwords are so long and random! OH very relieved, now watching rugby league, with rugby Union to look forward to! All I can look forward to is being able to pay some bills! And chat to you all as well, so that’s nice! Can feel quite lonely without my daily catch up! Time for a late lunch.

I have had a lazy day; felt like it was needed after the past few busy ones. It started off as a lovely day; vile now.
I have mince, passata, celery, carrots, onions garlic and herbs in the slow cooker which we'll have with pasta and parmesan shavings.
Been planning our pre Christmas break with Hub's sister and hub. We are going back to the Royal Victoria in Llanberis. I had booked 'our' room at a good rate back in September, with free cancellation, so now they're booked in too. Probably a good job, as I now see from the local FB page, that Nick Knowles and his DIY SOS Big Build team are in town from 4 - 11 December and most of the hotel rooms are already booked and have shot up in price.
As long as we don't have the dulcet tones of NK in the next room, we'll be OK.

Pleased to read that your cousin is rallying @Penny_Forthem and also to hear that you are finslly reconnected @Ergates. I watched the rugby league match which was slightly better than last weeks debacle. I am assuming the rugby union match was on Sky or something - which I don't have and I would far rather have watched that one.
@Penny_Forthem I hope that the DIYing won't be going on whilst you are in the hotel. Good job you booked a while back.
Signing out for today. Good evening all. See you tomorrow.

              Hello all from West Yorkshire.

My bestie school friend in N. Yorkshire rang to say she's had flu. Still sounds hoarse. We were going to her place on Monday but if she isn't well enough we'll go to a B&B until she's better.

Now we are with SIL and BIL in West Yorkshire.

Hello there everyone. Well another dreadful incident to wake up to, though social media scrollers will have learned of it last night, I just heard on the news about the knife attack on the LNER train yesterday. Thoughts are with the injured and their families. So a sombre start to today. It would be nice to have some happier news to counterbalance that.
There were lots of fireworks going off last night so I am assuming that some will have been celebrating Bonfire night. I was pleased that Cricket was indoors with me as, despite him being a big chunk of a feline, I think he is a scaredy cat.
So sorry to hear of your Bestie @Busy-Lizzie and I hope that she recovers from her cold soon.

                  Good morning all.

                  Thank you @Ladybird4.

I have just been reading about the knife attack on the train. Horrific. I hope no one dies. Those poor people.

Our journey went well yesterday and we both slept well.

Morning both of you, I've been up since 6 am so have been reading about the appalling attack on the train, those poor people, do hope those stabbed recover. Agree with you @Ladybird34, we need some good news for a change - and a complete silence on the Andrew saga.

Glad you slept well @Busy-Lizzie, I've replied on other thread about the aconitum.

We had a lovely surprise late afternoon when my DIL and her son called in for a quick tea and cakes on their way home after visiting Bristol Uni. My grandson is currently doing the Uni rounds to see which one he prefers, which might include Bath if we're lucky.

The family have had a bit of a surprise as our old family home is up for sale. It's strange to see the changes, inside and out, since we sold it 15 years ago.

I got quite a lot done in the garden yesterday and today promises to be largely dry as well so it might well be leaf gathering time, there's plenty of them all over the garden.

I'd better go and wake up OH!

Taking the dogs to the hills, then I think it'll be leaf raking here, too.
No word on cousin; my other cuz and I are quite frustrated by this as her hub was quick to tell us she'd been taken in on Wednesday, but the only update we've had was Friday, in response to us texting him. We don't want to keep pestering him.

                        Afternoon all.

It’s a lovely day here so in the garden doing jobs. The old apple tree which fell 5 ago and the trunk was kept as a natural support for a climbing Hydrangea, has finally rotted and fallen. Managed to save most of the Hydrangea, so it has some alternative support for the Winter and if it survives then I will buy or make a proper support for it. If not, maybe another apple tree or fruit tree.

I am very chuffed with all the crumbly and barky bits for the compost, and the bigger bits can be bug havens next to the stick pile.

I’ll collect some apples from the other tree now and cut some Chrysanthemums for MIL.

I hope everyone has a bit of sunshine today.

Still in Rhode Island, considering going to all those cute shops a few blocks away and just walk about, truly do not need to buy anything.
Not sure what else we will do. Time change this weekend.

Good evening all. How nice to get some unexpected family visitors @lizzie27. I can understand your frustration @Penny_Forthem. When something as serious as your cousin's illness then you would hope to be kept in the loop as to whatever is happening. If it were me, I'd pester.
I have done a lot of knitting today. I hope I get everything finished for the Fair. Signing out for now so goodnight all and I'll see you all tomorrow.

Good evening. I've been on sewing duties today, mending OH's gardening jeans, finishing off 2 Xmas star embroideries by mounting them on backing fabric and making buttonholes on a coat I made last year but couldn't finish till my machine had been for a service. Perfick now but really didn't want to know about those buttonholes before being tweaked and tickled.

Haven't seen any news today but my sympathies and best wishes to all those injured, shocked, angered or otherwise affected by the attack on the train.

Oh has been out raking leaves from the drive and putting them on the compost heaps but mostly indoors watching cricket and golf.

@Penny_Forthem I think he needs a prod. No business worrying you with bad news then not following up with progress, especially if it's better than expected.

@lizzie27 Bath has a very good reputation so fingers crossed.

Sleepy now - very itchy night so short on Zzzzzzzzzzzs

Hello there everybody. As the light is improving outside I can see that it is very windy judging by the movement of the trees. I doubt I will be doing much outdoor work today. Expecting a delivery of birdfood either today or tomorrow as my supplies are almost exhausted and there has been a big increase in the numbers of birds in the garden the last week or so. Enjoy your days, whatever you have planned.
