    Good morning to you all!!

A sunny start to the week, but being autumn we are having lots of wind, overcast with old spits of humidity - not even rain. That's here - Montpellier is having deluges!!

I will sow some broad beans this week which should be ready to harvest in the spring. I plant at this time of the year, because it seems....that the plants are exempt from black fly when the weather warms up. Sticky things.

I have been getting some quotes on a bit of tidy up work here - a carport or garage and some garden borders with drainage needed on the driveway which is just dust and bits of gravel. Soooo expensive, I can't believe it!! I have a garage attached to the house but it is full of my "downsizing" stuff!! Just need some shelter for car and bikes - what an expensive venture!

Glad to read you are reconnected @Ergates I hope you get some information concerning your cousin @Penny_Forthem I think I would keep pestering too as @Ladybird4 says!!

Yes, the news is shocking re the stabbings in the train - it was front line news here in France. Andrew exiled - I'm sure he will have a warm place to live this winter, unlike the many who have been exiled from their families. Doodems!!

I expect to finally finish my knitting today after it has been lying around and taken up a couple of times!! I'm on the left front (as for the right) about 10cm to go and then a press, sew together and a final press! Funny if it doesn't fit!!!

Here's hoping you all have a sunny Monday too.

Very glad to be reconnected again. The iPads and iMac all back on line, plus some automatic house lighting. The only thing still to deal with is the booster that improves the signal in the bedroom, and OH is working on that now. I did find it horrifying how reliant I am on instant communication and information. However did I manage in the ‘old’ days!
November already. I must look carefully to see what I can do by way of preparing the garden for winter. Not much really, it’s partly woodland which looks after itself, but I have some things in pots that I’ll need to research. Dull and grey this morning. Yesterday morning was sunny and bright, and we took ourselves down to the seaside for a walk. The promenade was very busy, but there were loads of lovely dogs to say hello to, and when we popped in for a coffee, we found two dear friends with the same idea, so spent a happy hour setting the world to rights.
Hope all have a productive week, with positive updates on sick relatives, and relief from aches and pains. And not too noisy with fireworks! Our big displays were on Saturday night, November 5th round here is rather dominated by the Tar Barrels in Ottery St Mary, a very big event, with road closures for miles around.

It's been largely dry today and quite warm in fact, up to 15c by 2 pm so I've spent a good 3 hrs in the garden - should sleep well tonight with a bit of luck.

Glad you're all re-connected @Ergates, envy you that seafront walk.

I agree @Tui34, garden work is getting so expensive, can you get more quotes for comparison or have you already done that? I must admit we didn't for our recent terrace rebuilding work as he was a personally recommended builder but now I wonder if we should have. Still he did a good job overall, one or two small niggles but I can live with those as the job wasn't straightforward.
Hope you get your knitting all finishes and that it fits!

Thank you all. Been a day of remembrances and thanks that, by chance, I met her (and my other cousin) 3 years ago. We chatted every day and they made me laugh, a lot.
Leaves raked, last cut of the year done and yet more Katy apples harvested (the dogs 'helped'). Was good to be outside.
I lost a filling yesterday; my 'emergency' appointment is a week on Wednesday. That's Ok. I'm NHS, so incredibly grateful for this service.
I'm afraid it's a comfort supper; sausage, egg and chips. Son is away, so no kids this evening.

I'm so sorry @Penny_Forthem. Hugs as needed and yes, comfort food and natter about good times will help.

It's been a good day here - dry, warm, sunny and a really good "patchwork" workshop with lots of embroidery, crochet, knitting and even a bit of patchwork going on. Xmas projects shown and listed, next week's embroidery workshop sorted. Good atmosphere and lots of laughter. I even managed to finish a sashiko embroidery that's been hanging around a couple of years.

My new trees have been delivered in my absence but not unpacked. I shall deal with those tomorrow and sow some broad beans.

Glad you're now connected @Ergates. Hope you find a good solution @Tui34.

                              Have a peaceful evening everyone.
