I dislike bedding plants in general, and as much as I admire Primulas, the council style planting of neat rows of all colours together is really not for me.

Browsing Morrison's reduced section between buses I realised that actually, if one has enough plants, they can be grouped together in less councily colour combinations or even planted singly here and there... so I succumbed. I'm easily succumbing type apparently

I also once succumbed @Selleri, in desperation for colour, at least they're cheerful! Stick a Cordyline in the middle and you've transformed your garden into a seaside resort .

I succumbed to the same temptation last year. Here they are popping up cheerfully again!

But I dislike "cheerful" :heehee: I'm a Country Living subscriber and aim for natural, classy tones of whites and pale pastels. Excluding my bubblegum pink Alstromeria of course, and the accidental Rose that boasts magnificent resemblance to Poundland artificial flowers. And the Primulas. :heehee:

Yesterday, when I planted my pyracantha, I said to myself: "Right, that was probably the last plant purchase of 2025."

            Today I bought this

            20251108_155513~2.jpg

(Saxifraga Dancing Pixies "Toni" - from Dobbies).

To my defence, today was the first day after a while that I finally tested negative for Covid, so of course I had to go to a garden centre, and this was in the clearance section. I had to "save it" :heehee:

The plan is to use it for a shaded area.

                Thank you @Victoria

It wasn't a big deal (the symptoms seemed much milder this time compared to in the past), but I was getting really sick of being in the house (even though you are no longer required to self isolate, I still didn't want to pass it on). So you are right, a plant purchase in celebration of getting my freedom back was 100% justified and I do not feel guilty

What can I say, I am a sucker for clearance plants

This tiarella "Angel Wings" is not in a great state, but for the sake of £3, I thought I would try to save it.

Oh dear. I visited Farmyard Nurseries again. I had a 'promotional email' of 3 ferns for £10.

And I forgot to mention acanthus sennii, which I'd liked in @NigelJ pics.
Not bad haul for the money!
I have the advantage that by going in person I can get the 9cm or 11cm pots from their polytunnels, which are much cheaper than the 2-3 litre pots. They grow fast enough to catch up quickly.
