@Busy-Lizzie Suffolk Punch horses are quite threatened I believe. Years ago, on one of our holidays in Sheringham, we visited a Shire Horse sanctuary - can't remember the name of it but it was somewhere near Cromer and they had one Suffolk Punch. I've also hear Adam on TV talking about his Suffolk Punch mare and how they have been breeding from her.

How quickly does our weather change about? Really rainy here. Last night it was very foggy when I went up to bed and I don't remember that being forecast. Luckily it seems clear now. I do not like driving in the fog. Mustn't forget any bits and bobs for tea/coffee morning. I should make a list!

 

It's vile here. Good job our dogs had a good run yesterday.
We have made the front cover of the pet rescue calendar, he he. Hardly a glowing endorsement, but...

Great excitement this afternoon - we saw a seal in the water off Bournemouth beach for the first time ever. A big crowd of people had gathered to watch so we asked them what was going on.
Enjoyed our walk along the prom, brilliant sunshine but rather blustery - blew the cobwebs away though.
DIL is cooking a massive leg of lamb for us which we're looking forward to.

Lovely photo @Penny_Forthem, Ladybird4 is right, Rufus is not wonky at all unlike the selfie I took on the seafront which looks like I have a wonky nose! A most unflattering photo which I promptly deleted.

 

How exciting, @lizzie27. It’s a rarity that we see any wildlife in the water off Sidmouth, maybe three or four seals in the 20 years we’ve been visiting. We used to occasionally watch son playing cricket in Exmouth, only a few miles west, and there would often be schools of dolphins ( or porpoises) jumping about not far off the beach.
It’s been dull, cold and miserable here, but at least it hasn’t rained. I’ve spent far too much time on the iPad, some of it constructive, most of it not. Did get some laundry done though.

 

Christmas has been started here; 2 x .5L kilner jars of pickled red cabbage done. I do like a cold goose and pickled red cabbage sarnie!
The outlaws are coming for supper on Friday - boeuf bourguignon. I hope to have little red cabbage ready for then, too.

 

How super to see a seal @lizzie27. I love the way they sort of bob their heads up out of the water as if they are thinking 'Oh I can see humans!' We had quite a quiet time at tea/coffee morning. I think the horrid weather put people off, plus there was a road closure fairly close to the Church which meant major detours. I have been listening to the hail battering against my windows for the last few hours - definitely a time to stay in and keep warm. I am signing out for today and look forward to reading any new 'news' tomorrow.

A very good morning one and all. Had a rubbish night's sleep last night. No idea why but I don't need an excuse now to stay inside and craft. I'll have to make a decision about quizzing tonight or not. My friend has now recovered from his cold but I think I may be coming down with one. I am still starting my Monday with a smile though

 

I have company today; my son is wfh, but 'home' is having a planned outage for trees to be pruned, so he's here! I'm trying to be very quiet.

Good morning all.

I have a cold. I coughed a lot in the night because of my runny nose. It's a nuisance because we were going to visit Oxburgh Hall tomorrow with a friend from Croatia who is staying in Norwich. I hope I'm well enough. I don't think sitting in a freezing church with a sore throat yesterday helped. I hope it will be a mild one like Cedric's last cold in October.

Cedric has booked lunch at our favourite pub restaurant on Wednesday. I hope I will feel well enough for that too.

We had heavy rain this morning and then the window cleaner came, good timing. Got front and back windows done so I set to and cleaned all the downstairs windows inside too. All sparkly now.
