        It is lovely isn’t it @Alisa, very striking. It’s a Calibrachoa and came as part of a mixed bunch from, I think, J Parker’s last spring. With a bit of luck it will survive the winter as it’s on the house wall.

                It is indeed. I like to sit out every morning for a while to catch a few rays, often with one of the furries on my lap. I don't miss the British weather at all ... but we are just going into our rain season, which we need to compensate four our very dry seasons.

                  The Strawflower plant was still blooming away outside until last week's frosts when they started to wilt. They survived a few more days when cut and put in a vase but even inside the stems eventually went to mush. But the flowers themselves are amazingly resilient so Mrs LS has now displayed them like this:

                    If you hang them upside down the stems will dry out.
                    I used to make dried flower arrangements many years ago.
